El video del tema oficial de Los Juegos Olímpicos, sí eriza la piel

Hace menos de una semana se dio a conocer por primera vez el tema oficial de los Juegos Olímpicos de 2012. "Survival" ("Supervivencia"), de Muse, se difundió en Internet y la canción generó una cantidad discreta de visitas en YouTube. En ese momento, siendo honesta, me pareció raro que fuera esta agrupación británica la encargada de componer tan importante emblema de contienda a celebrarse en Londres.

Aunque me declaro fan del trío y de sus cantos de guerra, ni los versos ni el sonido de esta canción me cimbraron. Hoy, aunque sigo pensando que no se trata de una de sus mejores composiciones, puedo decir que al escucharla ya se mueve algo en mí. Y es que como amante del deporte, al ver el video oficial de la canción, se me erizó la piel.

La fórmula la conocemos de memoria. El video es un montaje de múltiples escenas con atletas de todas las disciplinas olímpicas. A la mayoría los vemos realizando fantásticas proezas, victoriosos, derramando lágrimas de felicidad, gritando eufóricos su triunfo. Y claro, el himno que reza "estoy preparado para mantenerme vivo", simplemente hace click con este fabuloso collage de imágenes.

Algunos de los atletas que figuran en el video, difundido en YouTube por el Comité Olímpico Internacional, son estrellas tan reconocidas como Michael Phelps o Novak Djokovic, otros son gimnastas o clavadistas que siempre nos dejan con la boca abierta con sus espectaculares saltos, pero también hay campeones de remo, esgrima, ping pong y muchas otras disciplinas que, aunque no siempre son tan pomposas, emocionan por igual a los espectadores de todo el mundo.

Los Juegos Olímpicos de Londres 2012 están cada vez más cerca y estoy segura de que "Survival" se nos irá colando poco a poco en el gusto musical. Sé que muchos mirarán este video y sentirán cómo su corazón se acelera al tiempo que recuerdan los gloriosos momentos que aquí se retratan, e imagino también, empezarán a relamerse los bigotes porque el delicioso aroma de los Olímpicos ya flota en el aire.

Hacer un himno y su respectivo video para una contienda deportiva puede parecer cuestión de seguir una fórmula, pero la verdad es que hay que saber ejecutarla con talento y brillantez. Esta canción podrá no volverse de dominio popular, pero sin duda tiene mayor potencia y mucha más elegancia que el "Waka Waka" de Shakira para Sudáfrica 2010. Me alegra saber que este tema no terminará sonando eternamente en los pasillos de un mall o en las distorsionadas bocinas de un gym.
