¿Has escuchado lo que dicen acerca de que Estados Unidos quiere construir una valla a lo largo de su frontera con México? ¿Crees que la valla es con la intención de mantener a la gente adentro del país o afuera?
Tienes razón. Las personas no están tratando de salir, están tratando de entrar. Pero, ¿por qué tantas personas intentan entrar?

La respuesta es sencilla... es OPORTUNIDAD.
A diferencia de otros países en el mundo, las oportunidades en Estados Unidos llegan de diferentes formas. Podrían ser más puestos de trabajo, mejores salarios, mejores condiciones de vida, acceso a asistencia de salud, educación superior, o potencial para el ahorro. "El sueño americano" está limitado solamente por tu imaginación.
Por lo tanto, la verdadera pregunta es: ¿cómo puedes aprovechar al máximo cada una de estas oportunidades?
El primer pequeño consejo que yo te daría no está relacionado directamente con el dinero o las finanzas, pero aquí está: APRENDE A HABLAR INGLÉS.
Con el tiempo aprenderás que mientras más cómodo te sientas hablando la lengua, el americano se sentirá más cómodo contigo. Y ya que las oportunidades generalmente llegan a través del contacto con las personas, aprender el idioma pone las probabilidades a tu favor.

El segundo pequeño consejo que yo compartiría es... consigue una EDUCACIÓN. Esto puede llevar tiempo. Tal vez tendrás que asistir a la escuela por las noches o los fines de semana, pero la educación puede ser la diferencia entre riqueza y pobreza.
También el mundo se está volviendo un lugar muy competitivo. Gente de la India, Asia y Filipinas están tratando de obtener el mismo trabajo que tú deseas. Y, en muchos casos, el ganador es quien cuenta con el nivel más alto de educación. Así que, no limites tus posibilidades. Obtén la mejor educación posible.
Aquí está un consejo que la gente casi nunca quiere escuchar. ¡TRABAJA COMO LOCO! Cuando comienzas, tal vez no harás mucho dinero por hora. De este modo, si quieres más dinero... tendrás que trabajar más horas.
Sé que suena muy simple, pero es muy DIFÍCIL de hacer. Es particularmente difícil hacerlo durante un largo periodo. Porque te cansarás. Tendrás menos tiempo para estar con tus amigos y familia, y querrás renunciar.
Pero, si realmente deseas mejor ropa para tus hijos, un coche más nuevo, o incluso tu propia casa... va a tomar dinero. Entonces, solo recuerda esto... LOS GANADORES HACEN LAS COSAS QUE LOS PERDEDORES NO QUIEREN HACER. ¡Elige ser un ganador!

Aquí esta otro consejo... ¡forma parte del sueño americano! A la medida posible, adopta el sistema y la cultura de los Estados Unidos como tu propia.
No, no estoy diciendo que deberías de olvidarte de dónde vienes. Pero, necesitas recordar por qué estás aquí.
He visto demasiadas veces que gente que viene a este país para hacer una mejor vida para ellos y sus familias, sólo recrean las mismas condiciones de las cuales ellos querían desesperadamente escaparse.
Estoy segura de que ustedes también lo han visto. Maneja alrededor de cualquier ciudad grande de los Estados Unidos y encontrarás "China Town", "Little Saigon", "Korea Town", etc. ¿Por qué es eso? Porque hace que la gente se sienta cómoda. Hay menos incógnitas. Tan malo como puedan ser las condiciones en las que se encuentren, por lo menos tienen previsibles la comida, el idioma y las costumbres para respaldarse.
Y, finalmente, ten cuidado de quién tomas consejos. No hay nada de malo en pedir ayuda a tus "paisanos". Pero, pregúntate ¿cómo les está yendo realmente? ¿La están "haciendo" en este país? Si no, encuentra a alguien que tenga una vida acertada y equilibrada y sigue sus pasos.
