'Sábado de Gloria' para el fútbol olímpico mexicano

Un trabajo bien realizado, planeado, culminó con el oro olímpico... ¡México campeón del fútbol en Londres 2012!

Me llena de orgullo ser mexicana, ser testigo de la historia olímpica que hoy se firmó, un 11 de agosto México logró lo esperado por millones de fanáticos años atrás, el sueño olímpico, la medalla dorada.

Hoy, México dejó de ser el 'ya merito' para decir 'sí se pudo'. Dejamos atrás los miedos, los estigmas, los complejos, dejamos a un lado el mote de 'enanitos verdes' para lograr el de 'campeón olímpico'.

El 'Scratch du Oro' dejó de serlo en Londres y le cedió, muy a su pesar, el lugar a los mexicanos. No fue fácil para los aztecas derrotar al gran favorito que dio la batalla hasta el final, dio todo lo que tenía para lograr la hazaña y vencer la maldición que pesa sobre ellos de no lograr un oro olímpico, pero no fue así.

Por primera ocasión escuché diferente el Himno Nacional de México, será porque en un país de habla inglesa, las voces de cientos lo entonaron, los fanáticos, los propios jugadores y, me atrevo a pensar hasta extraños, hicieron vibrar a todo el estadio de Wembley.


México repitió la historia, Giovanni Dos Santos volvió a sonreir con una medalla de oro en sus manos. En 2005, en Perú, México rompió todo pronóstico, calló a quienes dudaron de la preparación de esos jovencitos, vencieron al gigante latinoamericano, Brasil, y se coronaron reyes en el Mundial Sub17, y hoy, nuevamente lo hicieron.

Este triunfo ha hecho que valga la pena el esfuerzo de otros atletas mexicanos que dieron todo por llegar a las preseas doradas y quedaron entre los mejores en sus disciplinas olímpicas, como el gimnasta Daniel Corral Barrón, quinto lugar en barras paralelas; el clavadita Yahel Castillo, sexta posición en plataforma de 3m; la clavadista Paola Espinoza, sexta posición en plataforma de 10m; Juan Luis Barrios, octavo lugar del mundo en cinco mil metros planos; Jannet Alegria quien se quedó por un punto dorado sin el bronce olímpico en taekwondo, y muchos otros atletas quienes, sin el apoyo al inicio de sus carreras de instituciones deportivas mexicanas, han llegado a la meta de cualquier atleta, los Juegos Olímpicos.

Brasil, serio, no pudo ocultar su desilusión, su molestia, su enojo, al llevarse solamente la plata, un segundo lugar, que a muchos les sabría a gloria y hoy, a ellos les duele enormemente. Los 'Verdeamarelha' jugaron con el corazón, pusieron a México a temblar con sus llegadas, Neymar se entregó en la cancha y, pese al resultado, confirmó que siguen siendo una escuadra de gran peligro no sólo enLatinoamérica, sino en el mundo.

Corea, quien se llevó el bronce, demostró la calidad y el buen fútbol que en Asia se está jugando, un gran equipo que puso en aprietos a la selección de México en la fase de octavos, al quedar el encuentro empatado a ceros y que hoy se bañó en el bronce olímpico.

Tres escuadras que dejaron fuera a grandes del fútbol internacional y que hoy vivieron la gloria de subirse al pódium olímpico.
