Hace un par de días el colega de Telemundo, Carlos Maxwell comentaba en su segmento de deportes del noticiero que los Miami Marlins estarían a punto de cerrar la parte más alta del Marlins Park, para varios de los juegos en casa, por la escasa asistencia al parque que se ha registrado este año y que no supera los 19.000 fanáticos, ocupando el último lugar de la liga en asistencia promedio.

Cerca de 10.000 asientos están en el conocido "upper deck" y poco más de 500 personas tienen asientos de temporada allí, estos serán los únicos en tener ventaja, puesto que sus asientos tendrán que ser reubicados y por supuesto con una ganancia en la localización de los mismos.

La gerencia de los Marlins aún no ha comunicado y los asientos económicos mantendrán sus precios y serán reubicados en los escenarios probables de reubicación de asientos. De no ser así, los promedios de precio por asientos para estos partidos ascenderían, cosa que ayudaría a los números por un lado, pero que haría que los fanáticos con menores recursos económicos tuviesen que abandonar la idea de ir al parque.

Hay 5.000 abonados, 7.000 menos que en 2012 y la mayoría de estas no van a los juegos, aunque si son contabilizados. I usted ha ido a un partido esta temporada y le dicen que en el parque hay 18.000 personas tiene que saber que estos 5 mil suman, aunque usted no los vea y termine pensando que los engañan.

En mi opinión este es el momento de acercarse a la gente, ese "upper deck" no debería estar cerrado, debería ser abierto con invitación a todas las fuerzas vivas de sociedad para que asistan al parque de ¿gratis? ¿por qué no? Sería una forma de dejar claro que los Marlins están comprometidos con la comunidad y que no se trata de la caza de los centavos, sino de una comunión entre los fanáticos y una gerencia que hace un mes pidió perdón por la forma en la que había manejado las cosas desde su mudanza.

En el terreno

En el terreno las cosas no están bien con los peces, Miami fue barrido por uno de los equipos más débiles de la liga, los Padres de San Diego y la lista de lesionados sigue creciendo, cosa que terminaría convirtiéndose en un cáncer para un equipo con tan poca profundidad como los Miami Marlins.

Sin Giancarlo Stanton en la alineación el equipo de Miami luce como inofensivo, su falta de poder es proverbial, al punto de que a los lanzadores de los Padres, en su parque "mata bateadores" sólo pudieron hacerle una carrera en 27 innings. Esto a pesar de la llegada del prospectazo Marcell Ozuna, que batea para un insolente 371 de promedio con un OPS de 1005.

El pitcheo ha continuado el buen trabajo, que ha efectuado durante toda la campaña, sin ser de los mejores su efectividad de 3.94 luce lo suficientemente buena para que un equipo que batee medianamente pudiera estar en competencia, pero cuando se batea para 225, último lugar entre los 30 equipos del béisbol, ganar partidos se hace una tarea titánica.

Los Marlins también son últimos en jonrones conectados con 19, empatados con los Reales de Kansas City. Este es un aspecto importante de lo que le comentaba acerca de la falta de respeto con la que el pitcheo contrario trata a los Marlins, se sienten cómodos lanzándole a Miami y hemos visto como Jason Marquis se ponía abajo en la cuenta contra algunos bateadores y venía con recta por el medio, buscando home con todo el desparpajo del mundo, esto sólo pasa cuando estás seguro de que no te van a voltear el juego de un batazo, como sería el caso con bateadores de cierto poder, que no existen en la alineación de los peces.

Si hacemos una regla de tres simple hoy los Marlins terminarían con un record de 116-46, lo que no sería un nuevo record negativo para el béisbol pero asusta.
