¿Qué le está pasando a los Angelinos de Anaheim?

Esta es una pregunta tremendamente compleja de contestar, tanto como definir la naturaleza humana y los problemas de nuestra conducta para los psicólogos, es que lo que pasa no tiene una explicación en la lógica numérica, por lo que hay que buscarla en la humanidad de los peloteros que conforman este equipo que fue ensamblado para ser campeón.

La dirección siempre es la culpable de todo, es decir, cuando se busca al "pagapeos" de las derrotas en los deportes siempre se busca a quien dirige a los atletas, llámense estos, managers, directores técnicos o simplemente coaches. Pero este no es el caso del equipo que comparte cuidad con el ratón Mickey, porque Mike Scioscia ya ha demostrado que es un buen manager, que ostenta una serie mundial y más de mil cien victorias en sus 14 años dirigiendo en el mejor béisbol del mundo.

Además Scioscia ha sido nombrado dos veces "Manager del Año" y a sus 54 años de edad no podemos decir que esté de salida, entonces, no hay que buscar por este lado... vamos a otra parte.

Albert Pujols es el pelotero que estaba llamado a ser la insignia de este grupo de grandes bateadores, el dominicano llegó a Anaheim medio de una gran fanfarria y Arte Moreno comprometió buena parte de su muy cuantiosa fortuna en para los sueldos futuros de quien a estas alturas de su carrera ya tiene asegurada una placa en Cooperstown.

Pero Albert no se ha aclimatado a su nueva casa, el salir de san Luis, done era una especie de dios, son un valor para la cuidad similar al del Arco que sirve para identificarla ante el mundo ha sido realmente traumática para el inicialista. Pujols pasó más de 100 turnos en 2012 sin dar jonrón, a su llegada a California y aunque terminó con unos excelentes 30 vuelacercas, también bajó 40 puntos su promedio de bateo en relación al promedio lo conectado en San Luis.

Otra aspecto que sufrió mucho en el bateo de Alberto fue la capacidad de recibir boletos, un hombre que constantemente rodea los 100 boletos recibidos por temporada, sólo recibió 52, mientras que empataba la segunda mayor cantidad de ponches en su carrera.

Claro que podemos decir que Pujols, está estrenándose en la americana, pero es que en su segundo año José Alberto conecta para 249 y eso tiene que preocupar a todo el mundo.., pero sigamos viendo.

Nade puede esperar que Mike Trout tenga una temporada como la de 2012 y aunque tiene excelentes números no va a igualar su gesta del año pasado, claro que la barra estaba demasiado alta. Lo que más nos preocupa es que conecta para 30 puntos menos de lo que bateó y de lo que se embasó en 2012 y él está allí para embasarse.

Mark Trumbo sigue sin saber que va a jugar cada día y a pesar de eso pune números similares a los de 2012. Para mí siempre es un error agarrar a un buen bateador y ponerlo a jugar lo que sea día a día, eso tiene que afectar su concentración y este muchacho de 27 años podría dar mucho más, si supiera con que guante día a día.

Llegamos al punto más álgido Josh Hamilton, el enorme y problemático Josh, batea para 217 y viene de hacerlo para 305 en 5 años con los Rangers, además sólo tiene 21 impulsadas y no ha sido la protección que necesitan Pujols y Trout para mejorar sus numeritos. Lo más complicado es que con él uno no sabe a qué atenerse y ha dejado de ser el fildeador casi perfecto de algunos años atrás y ahora tiene 5 errores que son bastantes para su posición.

Los Angelinos son décimo primeros en bateo en las mayores con 259 de promedio, son novenos en jonrones con 74, oncenos en carreras anotadas con 292, es decir son un equipo ofensivo que raya en la mediocridad, algo que está muy lejos de sus credenciales.

Ahora su pitcheo está mucho peor, son el equipo 25 en efectividad con 4.39, son décimo primeros en jonrones recibidos con 68, son séptimos en bases por bolas propinadas con 217 y los contrarios les batean para 265, mientras que permiten la fabricación de 291 carreras, una menos de las que fabrican los propios Angelitos.

A la defensiva son el segundo equipo con más errores cometidos con 49 y apenas han podido fabricar 47 doble matanzas convirtiéndolos en los segundos peores en esta rama del juego. Además sus receptores han permitido más robos que cualquier otro equipo con 54.

Hay muchas razones para explicar la temporada de desencanto de los Angelinos, juzgue usted y escoja la que mejor le ajuste.
