'Chicharito' fue, es y será

Javier Hernández marcó el gol del triunfo de México sobre Costa Rica y con ello contribuyó a la impecable clasificación del Tri al Hexagonal Final de la Concacaf. Además, en algo menos relevante pero que me da mucho gusto, esa anotación sirvió para cerrarles las bocas a sus críticos, al menos por un rato.

Por una malsana costumbre, muchos mexicanos gustan de "golpear" al compatriota exitoso. Ejemplos hay muchos. Hugo Sánchez, Ana Gabriela Guevara, Soraya Jiménez, Giovani dos Santos y Carlos Vela, por nombrar sólo algunos.

Dichos personajes pasaron de ser idolatrados a menospreciados en poco tiempo. Sus impresionantes logros deportivos fueron cambiados a vulgares opiniones: "Es que es un ególatra", "es que parece hombre", "es que se la vive en la fiesta".

Con el "Chicharito" comenzó este aberrante fenómeno. Tras su impresionante despegue futbolístico, en el que incluyo su última temporada con Chivas, su participación en el Mundial, en el que prácticamente todos los mexicanos lo queríamos en el sitio del "Guille" Franco, y su espectacular primer año con el Manchester United, de pronto varias voces comenzaron a llamarlo "tronco", sin tomar en cuenta que tuvo varias lesiones que le impidieron mantener su nivel.

Que no se nos olvide que este joven, a sus 24 años, ya metió dos goles en una Copa del Mundo y jugó como titular una Final de UEFA Champions League. ¿Cuántos mexicanos pueden presumir esto?

Dentro de sus virtudes, "Chicharito" es letal en el área, rapidísimo, formidable en el remate de cabeza y cuenta con un olfato especial para aparecer en el lugar y momento correctos. ¿Falla? Sí, todos los goleadores lo hacen, pero de que es el mejor centro delantero mexicano, por encima de otro talentoso como Oribe Peralta, no tengo dudas. Y, dejo claro, también me confieso admirador del "Cepillo".

Pero también fuera del campo brillan las cualidades de Javier. Es positivo, disciplinado, no realiza declaraciones explosivas. Es el sueño de cualquier director técnico.

No faltará quien piense que estoy exagerando y que ubico a Hernández junto a estrellas como Messi o Ronaldo. ¡Para nada! "Chicharito" está lejos de esos monstruos, sin embargo su talento le alcanza para estar entre los atacantes de uno de los equipos históricos de Europa y tan sólo por esa simple razón, me parece, deberíamos de tenerle respeto. No cualquiera...no cualquiera.

Contra los costarricenses, Hernández, con ese oportunismo que lo caracteriza, resolvió un partido que se estaba complicando. Logró aislarse de sus marcadores y en el área chica, con la cabeza, por fin pudo perforar la meta del inspirado Keylor Navas. No, no fue un golazo, pero a quién le importa, fue el gol que le dio los tres puntos al Tri y el pase a la siguiente ronda.

¿Su festejo? Yo no observé alguna burla o mala actitud hacia el público. Se tocó la parte con la que metió el gol. Fue todo.

En fin, así como por mucho tiempo pedimos que los futbolistas mexicanos cambiaran su mentalidad, aficionados y periodistas también debemos modificar la nuestra. Empecemos por dejar de "reventar" al exitoso y por mejorar nuestras memorias. Créanme, es una sana recomendación.
