Bomba de tiempo en Pumas

El 22 de mayo de 2011 la alegría se desbordaba en Ciudad Universitaria, los gritos de "¡Goya!" retumbaban entre el Pebetero y el Palomar. Hoy el panorama es muy distinto. Bastantes cosas han cambiado desde aquella tarde en la que Palencia y Cortés, con sus goles, le entregaban otro trofeo de Liga a la afición felina. No fue hace mucho, pero aun así ya son otros tiempos. En la dirección deportiva estaba Mario Trejo y en la técnica Guillermo Vázquez. Ni uno ni otro pasea más por el Pedregal. Los nombres y los hombres no son los mismos.

Alberto García Aspe fue nombrado vicepresidente deportivo el 15 de mayo de 2012, casi un año después del título frente a Morelia. A partir de ese día, varias decisiones han transformado las risas en molestias.

Vamos por pasos. Pese a que aparentemente lo intentó, el ex comentarista de Televisa no pudo retener a Guillermo Vázquez, un técnico que con poco logró mucho y al que la anterior administración le negó los refuerzos que solicitó. "Memo", entonces, se marchó.

García Aspe tuvo que recurrir a un plan B y aquí vino el primer gran error. La directiva universitaria comenzó a armar el plantel con jugadores de calidad comprobada como "Tito" Villa, Luis García y Martín Romagnoli, pero sin contar aún con el estratega del nuevo proyecto. Más tarde hizo circo, maroma y teatro para contratar a Joaquín del Olmo. Todo al revés.

Una vez hecha la apuesta por del Olmo y con todo lo que costó traerlo, la paciencia duró sólo seis Jornadas. Imposible que un técnico, con tan poco tiempo, pueda entregar resultados. Segundo error.

Y llegó el tercero, el más grave de todos, reemplazarlo con Mario Carrillo, hombre con pasado americanista.

Todos, absolutamente todos, sabemos que para la gente de Pumas lo que huela a América es inaceptable. "C.U. no es gallinero", manifestó alguna vez la afición universitaria cuando las Águilas pretendían jugar como locales en el Olímpico. Al final, los de Coapa tuvieron que buscar otro escenario. Braulio Luna y Raúl Salinas, entre otros, sufrieron en carne propia el desprecio de una fanaticada extremadamente fiel a sus convicciones. Con esos antecedentes, es increíble que la directiva auriazul tomara tal determinación.

El domingo pasado llegaron las consecuencias. Cantos e insultos en contra de Carrillo. Era obvio, más aún cuando el resultado fue desfavorable. Y los gritos de inconformidad ya alcanzaron a García Aspe. Varios pidieron la salida del directivo.

Pumas, pese a sus cuatro derrotas en ocho partidos, se encuentra únicamente a dos puntos de puestos de clasificación. Ese no parece problema, sí lo es el desprecio de sus seguidores hacia el timonel. Carrillo será visitante en todos los partidos que le toque dirigir a Pumas.

Hay que dejar muy claro que la afición no tiene culpa. Los seguidores de Pumas, muchos de ellos jóvenes, tienen muy claros sus ideales, los defienden y los manifiestan. Hacen bien. Acá la responsabilidad pasa por la gente que tomó la decisión de llevar a Carrillo, a sabiendas de ese rechazo. No es que el "Capello" sea incapaz, simplemente no tiene cabida en Pumas. "Vox populi vox Dei"( La voz del pueblo es la voz de Dios).

Todo parece indicar que lo que ocurre en Pumas es una bomba de tiempo, que explotará más temprano que tarde, porque la única forma en que Carrillo cambiaría las mentadas por aplausos, sería entregando un campeonato. Algo, aunque no imposible, sí improbable.
