CIUDAD DE MÉXICO - México se prepara para tener dos selecciones nacionales en importantes torneos de 2015. Así lo confirmó el técnico Miguel Herrera, quien debe afrontar la Copa América y la Copa de Oro.
El 'Tri' es invitado permanente en el torneo de la CSF y como asociado de CONCACAF, se enfrenta a esta disyuntiva con frecuencia. Así sucedió en 2011 cuando un contingente acudió a Argentina para terminar en último lugar y otro ganó en Estados Unidos la Copa de Oro.
"Tengo que armar dos selecciones muy sólidas, no quiero armar una selección y dividirla... debilitaría a las dos", dijo el 'Piojo' este miércoles en conferencia de prensa.
El entrenador azteca está seguro de que ningún club querrá que sus jugadores disputen dos torneos en el verano, así que deberá contar con un universo de más de 40 futbolistas.
"Estoy buscando jugadores para armar a las dos selecciones, para que las dos compitan, cada una en su torneo", explicó.
Herrera por su parte, sí estará en el banquillo dirigiendo ambos equipos. No como sucedió hace cuatro años cuando José Manuel de la Torre comandó la Copa de Oro y Luis Fernando Tena la Copa América.
Este 'Tri' y su alter ego, disputarán la Copa América del 11 de junio al 4 de julio, y la de Oro del 7 al 26 de julio.
Entre tanto, este miércoles se presentó la convocatoria para los partidos amistosos de octubre ante Honduras y Panamá.
