CIUDAD DE MÉXICO - La selección mexicana tiene un arduo compromiso este viernes contra Honduras: Saltará al terreno del Estadio Azteca con la consigna de lograr su primer gol y victoria en casa para mantener esperanzas de clasificar al Mundial.

México recibirá a los catrachos en un duelo de alta tensión. El 'Tri' marcha tercero en el Hexagonal Final producto de ocho puntos, mientras que el equipo centroamericano es cuarto con una unidad menos. El torneo brinda tres lugares directos a Brasil y un pase a repechaje

Para el técnico José Manuel de la Torre las florituras son para otro momento, este choque hay que ganarlo a como de lugar sin importar la forma: "Hay veces que haces bien las cosas y no ganas, ahora el resultado está por delante de todo, hay que ganar como sea".

"Hay que ser contundentes, aprovechar todo lo que tengamos y estar atentos, cuando jugamos en San Pedro Sula ¿Cuántas veces llegó Honduras y nos hicieron dos goles", agregó en conferencia de prensa el 'Chepo'.

En medio de la controversia por el nivel de juego de sus elementos internacionales, el seleccionador azteca resaltó a 'Chicharito' Hernández y Andrés Guardado como piezas clave, aunque se negó a adelantar si serán titulares en el partido.

Después de un año lleno de sinsabores los dirigentes de la Federación Mexicana tuvieron que dar un espaldarazo público a De la Torre, ratificación que no estuvo sujeta a imposiciones según el mismo técnico.

"Fui invitado a hablar con los dirigentes, como en cualquier equipo, nunca hubo ninguna imposición", aclaró.

Pese la preocupación y rivalidad que reviste el enfrentamiento entre aztecas y catrachos, la selección hondureña nunca ha podido ganar en suelo rival.

Honduras por su parte se concentró en la ciudad de Miami, Estados Unidos y viajó la víspera sin que tenga programado reconocer la cancha del Coloso de Santa Úrsula previamente.

El partido está programado para iniciar a las 20:30 horas locales con arbitraje del panameño Roberto Moreno.
