Cuatro meses han pasado desde que el cubano Guillermo Rigondeaux sorprendiera al vencer al filipino Nonito Donaire con una amplia decisión unánime y desde ese momento no ha recibido propuesta alguna para seguir desarrollando su carrera.

El ex campeón olímpico y actual poseedor de las coronas Gallo de la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo y de la Organización Mundial de Boxeo es promovido por la empresa estadounidense Top Rank, del abogado neoyorkino Bob Arum, y desde su importante triunfo no ha tenido noticias de cuál será el siguiente paso. Mientras que el filipino ya fue anunciado para regresar a los encordados el 9 de noviembre por HBO.

En lo que considera es una total falta de respeto, Rigondeaux aseguró estar muy indignado.

“Me molestan muchos las bromas de mal gusto que he escuchado de Bob Arum, como que la gente de HBO vomita cada que escucha mi nombre. Hace poco supe que rindió homenaje a sus campeones y no fui invitado. Ellos me dijeron que me proporcionarían exposición en sus carteleras y lo olvidaron”, comentó un indignado cubano, quien mantiene su récord invicto de 12 triunfos, 8 de ellos por la vía del nocaut.

En entrevista con George Ebro, el 'Chacal' amenazó: “o me promueven o me regresan mi contrato. Pero ya no aceptaré más faltas de respeto. Gané mis títulos con gran esfuerzo y no dejaré que nadie me falte al respespeto”.
