El multipremiado entrenador mexicano Ignacio Beristain analizó para HuffPost Voces el duelo entre campeones Floyd Mayweather Jr y Saúl Álvarez y afirmó que el tapatío tiene amplias posibilidades para descifrar el estilo del invicto estadounidense.

“'Canelo' tiene las condiciones para poder ganar. Creo que está ante la gran posibilidad de regalarle a México una gran victoria. Por parte del 'Canelo' será el espectáculo, porque Mayweather siempre estará a la defensiva. Floyd tirará tres golpes e intentará irse afuera de la arena y luego regresará. Si yo tuviera un peleador de ese nivel no lo pelearía ante Mayweather, no me gusta como pelea”, dijo en entrevista.

Beristain, quien ya estuvo en la esquina contraria a 'MoneyMay' cuando Juan Manuel Márquez lo enfrentó en el 2009, asegura que el estadunidense, a pesar de todo el repertorio con el que cuenta, tendrá una dura prueba al enfrentar a un peleador 14 años más joven.

“'Canelo' ya lo demostró con este peleador que es un galimatías (Austin Trout) y le ganó. Yo creo que ahora podría hacer algo más, porque Mayweather es un peleador defensivo que a veces se para a pelear. Esta vez la diferencia de pesos no será tanta, no expone mucho. No aportará nada al espectáculo”, abundó.

El veracruzano adelantó que si el 'Canelo' trabaja no sólo la velocidad, con combinaciones de más de tres golpes, así como el contragolpeo logrará meter en serios aprietos al peleador que ha dado cuenta de 44 adversarios.

Beristain recalcó que el hecho de que llegue en este momento la oportunidad para el mexicano es muy buena, no sólo para la carrera del novel monarca, también para el boxeo mexicano.

“Como mexicano quiero que gane 'Canelo', porque a parte es el peleador que más se proyecta como el ídolo del boxeo mexicano y para el boxeo mexicano sería ideal que él ganara”, finalizó.

El hecho de que Floyd moviera todas la fechas de televisión en sepiembre y la pelea de Juan Manuel Márquez se moviera para octubre no molestó a Ignacio Beristain, al contrario.

El veracruzano comentó no estar de acuerdo con la disputa entre promotoras (Golden Boy y Top Rank) pues el hecho de que se encimen carteleras demerita el trabajo realizado.

“A mi me parece bien, porque no tienen porqué estar haciéndose daño las empresas. Ya es un pleito muy abierto entre los goldenboys y Top Rank”, calificó

Aunque esta vez se cedió la fecha patria, Beristain aseguró que Juan Manuel sigue estando por encima del 'Canelo' y calificó a su peleador como el “Ídolo del boxeo mundial”.

“La pelea de 'Canelo' y Maywether no tiene porqué robarle atención a la de Juan Manuel. Pues Juan demostró, ahora que estuvo en Los Ángeles, que es un ídolo del boxeo no solo mexicano sino mundial, pues en cuanto lo descubrió la gente fue una ovación ensordecedora y le aplaudieron más que a Mike Tyson”, finalizó.

Beristain asegura de que el hecho de que Juan Manuel vaya por un quinto campeonato será una gran forma de finalizar con 20 años de carrera profesional en el deporte de los puños.
