Rompiendo cualquier protocolo político, la exprimera dama Barbara W. Bush reconoció en televisión nacional que su hijo, Jeb Bush, está más que cualificado para ser un candidato presidencial para las elecciones del 2016, pero que ya "hemos tenido suficientes Bushes" en la Casa Blanca.

"Yo pienso que él no debería postularse", agregó la señora Bush en una entrevista junto a sus nietas y a Laura Bush para la cadena NBC.

La pregunta a la señora Bush fue específica por parte del entrevistador: "¿Le gustaría ver a Jeb aspirando a la presidencia?" Ella respondió, sin pensarlo.

"No me gustaría. Yo creo que este es un gran país, existen muchas grandes familias y ésto no es de cuatro familias o lo que sea. Alla afuera hay mucha gente preparada y cualificada".

Sin embargo, George W. Bush, piensa diferente a su madre acerca de la aspiración presidencial de su hermano.

"El sería muy bueno", puntualizó Bush en entrevista con ABC. "Sería un candidato maravilloso si él decide hacerlo [postularse]. Él no necesita mi consejo porque sabe cuál es: postúlate".

Por otra parte, su esposa y también exprimera damaLaura Bush dijo a Charlie Tose en CBS que también ve a su cuñado en la batalla por la Casa Blanca.

"Me encantaría ver a Jeb aspirando a la presidencia" y calificó de "interesante" una contienda presidencial entre Hillary Clinton por el partido demócrata y Jeb Bush por el ala republicana.

Este jueves, todos los presidentes estadounidenses vivos se reunieron en Dallas, en un inusual encuentro para participar en la inauguración del Centro Presidencial George W. Bush.

En las elecciones presidenciales del 6 de noviembre de 2012, Jeb Bush apoyó infatigablemente a Mitt Romney y explicó aHuffPost Voces por qué los votantes latinos debían favorecer en las urnas al candidato republicano.

"Cuando Romney habla de la inmigración habla en términos económicos y así debe ser, y creo que como presidente no va a hacer lo que hizo Barack Obama, de prometer la luna y el sol y todo lo demás y no hacer nada", enfatizó Jeb Bush
