Eddison Reinoso, entrenador de Saúl Alvarez, descarta sin dudar nombres de posibles rivales como el del cubano Erislandy Lara o el mexicano Alfredo Angulo.

"Vamos por algo mucho más grande", dijo a HuffPost Voces.

Reinoso, quien ha estado en la esquina de Álvarez casi desde su debut al profesionalismo comentó que el buscar peleas ante boxeadores como Angulo o Lara sería dar un paso para atrás en la meta: conseguir grandes figuras del deporte para demostrar la valía del peleador tapatío de 22 años.

"Sin duda en mente tenemos a Floyd Mayweather. Pero primero tenemos que esperar al resultado de su pelea ante Guerrero. Para nosotros es muy importante esa contienda, pero habrá que tener paciencia", dijo el entrenador, quien coincidió con el promtor Óscar de la Hoya en que Canelo estaría listo para estelarizar una contienda este 14 de septiembre en Las Vegas, Nevada.

"Aún tenemos que hablar de rivales, pero de que septiembre es fecha del 'Canelo', de eso no hay que dudar", dijo el orgulloso promotor del mexicano, quien aseguró sentirse muy satisfecho tanto por el poder de convocatoria que tiene Álvarez como del resultado de la contienda en la que logró unificar las coronas de la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo y del Consejo Mundial de Boxeo en división Superwelter.

Eddison reconoció que una de las posibilidades en el futuro inmediato del tapatío podría ser el boricua Miguel Ángel Cotto, pero insistió que primero esperarán a Floyd.

"Si han habido acercamientos, platicas que dejan ver un claro interés, pero de eso a que exista una propuesta formal, está lejos. Seguramente nos sentaremos en un futuro cercano para definir la propuesta, pero mientras esperaremos", dijo a HuffPost Voces Gabriel Peñangaricano, representante del 'Orgullo boricua'.

Respecto al deseo del CMB, organismo con sede en México, de que el ganador de la contienda abdicara una de las coronas a 10 días del pleito en su afán de no tener campeones unificados, Reinoso comentó:

"De tener que elegir, nos iríamos con el del Consejo Mundial. Es un organismo que siempre ha estado al pendiente de nosotros", dijo.

Respecto a la situación legal de su pupilo, Reinoso aseguró que no hay de que preocuparse, pues todo está bajo control.

"Saúl va a responder ante la justicia. Nadie intenta interferir, ni mucho menos. Estamos esperando que el proceso siga su curso, para ver de qué manera procederemos", comentó el entrenador, respecto a la demanda que tiene el peleador en México por una supuesta agresión al ex campeón mundial Ulises Solís.

'Canelo' también tiene que responder por una demanda de incumplimiento de contrato que tiene en Estados Unidos con el promotor de All Star Boxing, Felix Zabala.

Tutico Zabala entabló la demanda desde el 2011 luego de que el peleador mexicano, tras haber firmado con él, decidiera ignorar el contrato y firmar con Golden Boy Promotions, empresa que dirige Óscar de la Hoya.
