En un gran partido que se llevó a cabo en el estadio Azteca, el conjunto de América rompió su racha de empates y logró alzarse con la victoria, luego de vencer por la mínima diferencia, en esta jornada 15 del Torneo Clausura 2013, a la escuadra de Pumas.

Con esta victoria, que mete de lleno al conjunto azulcrema para colocarse en buena posición de cara a la Liguilla, el timonel Miguel Herrera logró vencer a los tres acérrimos rivales de su escuadra en el futbol mexicano, pues al 1-0 al cuadro felino, se une el 3-0 que le propinó a Cruz Azul y el 2-0 a Guadalajara.

EL JUEGO
Pumas salió desde el inicio con mejor control de balón y, gracias a su dinamismo, no dejó hacer nada a su rival en los primeros 20 minutos; pero la más clara para el cuadro felino llegó al minuto 12 en una gran jugada entre Robin Ramírez y Velarde, en la que este último terminó frente al portero, mas al bombear la redonda, ésta quedó ligeramente por encima del marco.

La escuadra visitante siguió siendo mejor, pero en un descuido al 22’ América logró sorpresivamente ponerle número a la pizarra, luego de aprovechar que en un tiro de esquina la zaga felina se durmió al no marcar a Sambueza, quien recibió la pelota en corto y centró de zurda para el cabezazo de Benítez, que se la ganó a su marcador para mandar al fondo.

Con el gol, la escuadra del timonel Miguel Herrera tomó confianza y se empezó a adueñar de la redonda, por lo que en doble jugada llegó con mucho peligro: la primera en un tiro-centro de Paul Aguilar, y la segunda en un disparo desde el medio campo de Benítez al ver adelantado al arquero Palacios.

Pumas perdió su mediocampo y dejó de llegar, pero las cosas empeoraron todavía más con la expulsión de Martín Bravo, luego de que el delantero argentino forcejeó con su compatriota Sambueza, a quien le soltó doble patada, por lo que el silbante no dudó en sacar la roja directa.

América fue amo y señor del partido, pero fue en los minutos finales que logró llegar con peligro en disparos de Oswaldo Martínez y un par de Jesús Molina, siendo uno de este último el más peligroso, después de quedar solo dentro del área grande, mas el portero Palacios con buenos reflejos evitó la caída de su marco.

El segundo periodo inició mucho más movido que el primero, por lo que ambos conjuntos tuvieron asomos sobre las porterías enemigas, siendo la más peligrosa la del americanista Raúl Jiménez al 56’, quien se escapó solo y, al llegar al área grande, sacó débil disparo que en el fondo logró controlar Palacios.

A pesar de que la escuadra felina jugó con un hombre menos, Pumas con su futbol dejó verse mejor que su rival, pues durante esta parte complementaria tuvo más tiempo el balón, lo mejor que pudo hilvanar en el marco enemigo fue un disparo de Efraín Velarde que controló Muñoz.

América, al no tener mucho tiempo el balón, comenzó a desesperarse, por lo que Jesús Molina fue expulsado al 68’ al ganarse una segunda tarjeta amarilla, luego de tratar de golpear a un contrario.

En la parte final, el equipo americanista, ya también con 10 hombres, se vio mejor que con 11, por lo que tuvo llegada; pero tanto Pumas como América estuvieron cerca del gol: por el lado local Raúl Jiménez se perdió la oportunidad y, por el lado felino, Muñoz sacó un disparo de Robin Ramírez.

La parte final fue un ir y venir en ambas porterías, pero fue América el equipo que estuvo más cerca del gol, pero gracias a las buenas intervenciones del portero Palacios el marcador no se movió; sin embargo, la última fue de Pumas, pero Ramírez no pudo definir ante Muñoz, por lo que el juego quedó sentenciado.
