Gracias a un golazo del delantero argentino Sergio Agüero en la parte complementaria, el conjunto del Manchester City se llevó el derbi de la liga inglesa, luego de derrotar de visitante al conjunto del Manchester United 2-1.

Con la victoria, el equipo del director técnico Roberto Mancini redujo la distancia entre su equipo y el ManU a 12 unidades, por lo que todavía deja abierta la posibilidad de poderlo alcanzar para ir en busca del bicampeonato de la liga.

EL JUEGO
La escuadra de los Diablos Rojos quiso sorprender desde el silbatazo inicial al tratar de hacerse de la pelota; sin embargo, el equipo de Alex Ferguson fue el sorprendido, pues los Citizens se adueñaron de la misma y de las acciones, pero sin tener la profundidad deseada.

Lo mejor que pudo hacer en los primeros minutos el cuadro de Roberto Mancini fue un tiro centro de David Silva y un disparo de larga distancia de Gael Clichy, pero el portero De Gea estuvo atento y no dejó pasar nada.

Poco a poco, el cuadro del ManU empezó a equilibrar las acciones, pero fue pasados lo 20 minutos que comenzó a asomarse al marco de Joe Hart por medio de Robin van Persie y Ashley Young; sin embargo, le faltó profundidad a los ataques y quedaron solamente en intentos.

Ante lo parejo de los equipos, en los últimos 15 minutos ambas escuadras tuvieron oportunidades manifiestas de gol, pero la más clara llegó hasta el último minuto de la primera mitad, en la que Rafael recibió una buena pared de Van Persie dentro del área y, no obstante de que su disparo lo sacó incómodo por el jugador que lo marcaba, el balón alcanzó a tocar el poste de Hart.

La parte complementaria inició a buen ritmo por parte de los dos equipos, con dominio alterno, pero fue la escuadra visitante que al minuto 51 logró abrir el marcador con el gol James Milner, quien desde fuera del área mandó escopetazo, dejando la pelota en la parte inferior del poste derecho de De Gea.

El conjunto del Manchester United se fue con todo en busca del gol del empate, por lo que ocho minutos después llegó por medio de un autogol de Vincent Company, quien terminó metiendo con la espalda la esférica en sus redes, luego de un cabezazo de Phil Jones en el área chica a centro de Van Persie por la banda derecha.

El partido se volvió a equilibrar, pero poco a poco el cuadro del City empezó a tener las riendas del mismo, la llegada más clara estuvo a cargo de Nasri, quien al minuto 70 no pudo tomar de volea un pase bombeado de Silva en el corazón del área, por lo que su disparo se fue por arriba del marco de De Gea.

Por fin el gran dominio de la escuadra visitante tuvo frutos al 79' mediante un golazo del ingresado Sergio Agüero, quien en una jugada personal desde la media luna, el delantero argentino ingresó al área y con fuerte derechazo venció a De Gea para dejar la pelota en las redes.

En los minutos finales, Ferguson trató de refrescar su ataque con el ingreso de Javier Hernández, pero sus jugadores fallaron en el último toque al mandar centros al área sin ton ni son, lo que facilitó el trabajo de la zaga del City, por lo que el partido quedó sentenciado a favor de la visita.
