ASUNCION, Paraguay (AP) — Dos varones que contrajeron matrimonio hace un año en la ciudad argentina de Rosario no podrán inscribirse como cónyuges en el Registro Civil porque la constitución paraguaya no establece la unión de personas del mismo sexo, resolvió el jueves la justicia.

Simón Cazal, de 30 años, y Sergio López, de 24, constituyen el primer caso de paraguayos unidos en matrimonio por la ley argentina. Ambos son activistas de la organización no gubernamental Somosgay.

El juez del fuero civil Nery Kunzle rechazó el jueves el pedido de la pareja para registrarse como matrimonio.

"La constitución nacional en los artículos 49, 50, 51 y 52 establece que un matrimonio para la constitución de la familia sólo debe ser formado por un hombre y una mujer", explicó brevemente el magistrado.

Cazal declaró a la AP que pese a la medida adversa, "seguiremos concientizando a la ciudadanía sobre la necesidad de no discriminar a los homosexuales y lesbianas y promocionar el respeto a la decisión soberana de unirse por amor con personas del mismo sexo".
