BUENOS AIRES (AP) — San Lorenzo estrenó el sábado una nueva camiseta con colores azulgrana sus habituales, pero con la imagen del papa Francisco en el pecho, y arrancó con un triunfo.

El nuevo jefe de la Iglesia Católica es un ferviente hincha de San Lorenzo. El equipo derrotó 1-0 a Colón como visitante por la 5ta fecha del campeonato argentino de fútbol.

Con la frase "Papa Francisco", sobre una foto del Sumo Pontífice encerrada en un círculo, San Lorenzo homenajeó así a su hincha más famoso en el estadio de Colón.

Pese a que el otrora cardenal Jorge Bergoglio es simpatizante confeso de San Lorenzo, sus hinchas no montaron una fiesta ya que fueron visitantes con apenas unas 3.500 personas.

San Lorenzo anunció que habrá un gran festejo en su estadio el 31 de marzo, cuando reciba al Newell's Old Boys por la sexta fecha del torneo.
