Yoani Sánchez llega este jueves a Nueva York, su primera visita a Estados Unidos, y la quinta escala de su gira de tres meses, en la que no ha faltado la polémica en torno a la bloguera y disidente cubana.

En su cuenta de Twitter compartió con sus seguidores en la mañana de este jueves:

En Nueva York, participará en una serie de eventos, organizados por centros académicos y de acuerdo con Ted Henken, experto en temas de Cuba y profesor de Baruch College en esa ciudad, la visita "contribuirá a conocer mejor la realidad de la isla [Cuba]", según manifestó en entrevista con El Nuevo Herald.

“Ella trae las voces de aquellos que no tienen oportunidad de hablar o temen expresarse abiertamente [...] Tendrá un impacto en el exilio cubano y la percepción que tienen otros sectores de la opinión pública sobre el estado de las libertades", añadió.

La bloguera cumplió una jornada en México en días pasados, en la que pidió que se debía tener una postura "exigente" en torno a la violación de los derechos humanos en su país.
