BARCELONA, España (AP) — El colombiano Radamel Falcao anotó su 20mo gol de la temporada en la liga española y el Atlético de Madrid se llevó el domingo una victoria 3-0 en cancha de Valladolid para cimentar su segundo puesto en el campeonato.

Falcao marcó a los 11 minutos, Diego Costa a los 53 y el uruguayo Cristian Rodríguez a los 90 para el Atlético.

El triunfo cerró una racha de cinco partidos sin ganar de visitante del equipo rojiblanco, que suma 53 puntos; 12 menos que el líder Barcelona. El Atlético le saca siete unidades de diferencia al Real Madrid, que cierra la 24ta fecha contra el Rayo Vallecano.

La jornada se completa con el cotejo Espanyol-Betis.

Previamente, el mexicano Carlos Vela consiguió su décima diana, pero la Real Sociedad no supo aguantar su ventaja y acabó cediendo un empate 1-1 como local ante Levante.

Vela transformó un penal a los 18 minutos para adelantar al equipo blanquiazul, pero Míchel Herrera niveló por la misma vía a los 29, rescatando un punto para el Levante, que cerró una racha de dos derrotas seguidas.

La Real ocupa provisionalmente la sexta plaza con 37 unidades, las mismas que el Rayo y tres menos que el Valencia, que tumbó 2-0 al Mallorca con goles de Ricardo Costa a los 60 minutos y Roberto Solado a los 81. El Mallorca sigue en puestos de descenso.

El tanto de Falcao surgió de la pizarra del técnico argentino Diego Simeone. Fue un tiro libre con pase de Gabi Fernández para el uruguayo Diego Godín, cuyo remate repelió el arquero venezolano Dani Hernández, quedando el balón franco para el "Tigre".

La férrea defensa del Atlético controló en todo momento a Valladolid, que no trenzó apenas jugadas, mientras Diego Costa disparó al lateral de la red local y ajustó el punto de mira tras el descanso, empalmando una asistencia de cabeza de Jorge Resurrección "Koke" para el 2-0. Rodríguez, aprovechando un error defensivo en los instantes finales, cerró la cuenta, estrenándose como goleador.

Dos penales por equipo subieron el 1-1 al marcador en el Real-Levante. El primero lo provocó hábilmente Vela, frío ejecutor desde los 11 metros. Pero el uruguayo Gonzalo Castro agarró a Christian Lell en el área opuesta y el chileno Claudio Bravo, pese a adivinar el lanzamiento de Míchel, no pudo evitar la igualada del Levante.

La Real gozó de buenas oportunidades en un cabezazo de Vela y un disparo de Antoine Griezmann, pero el costarricense Keylor Navas se mostró seguro en ambos remates y el francés tampoco acertó a peinar un centro del mexicano poco después.

Navas volvió a exhibir sus reflejos tras el descanso en un zapatazo de Castro y Bravo, superado el susto de ver como un cañonazo de Míchel impactaba el travesaño, respondió al enviar a tiro de esquina otro buen disparo de Pape Diop.

Con un hombre menos por la expulsión de Nikos Karabelas, Levante centró sus esfuerzos en defensa y, gracias a la fiabilidad de Navas, logró salvar el empate.

Giovani Dos Santos fue el mejor del Mallorca en Valencia, pero el internacional mexicano no acertó a batir a Diego Alves en una escapada en la primera mitad y, pese al dominio visitante y la expulsión del argentino Tino Costa en el cuadro "che", su equipo encajó el primer gol en un saque de esquina, cuando Ricardo Costa cabeceó poderosamente un servicio de Sergio Canales.

Víctor Casadesús tuvo el empate en un centro de Dos Santos, pero su cabezazo lo salvó nuevamente Alves y Valencia finiquitó el choque con el 12do tanto en liga de Soldado.
