SIGUE AQUÍ EN VIVO EL PARTIDO ENTRE REAL MADRID Y MANCHESTER UNITED HOY A LAS 2:30 PM ET

Este miércoles en la cancha del Santiago Bernabéu hay mucho en juego, el orgullo de la aristocracia del fútbol europeo, el pase a cuartos de final de la Champions League y quizá el puesto de José Mourinho. Real Madrid recibe al Manchester United en la serie más interesante de la segunda fase del torneo europeo.

En la cancha del inmueble madrileño se plantarán dos equipos que suman 12 Copas de Europa, que tienen en sus filas a los mejores jugadores del orbe y en los banquillos a técnicos históricos como el portugués Mourinho y Sir Alex Ferguson.

Para el entrenador lusitano la presión es agobiante, pues con la liga española prácticamente perdida, es la Champions League el único objetivo que podría mantenerlo al frente del club, pues ya se especula entre la prensa ibérica que la dirigencia blanca aguarda por el resultado para determinar su continuidad.

Más allá de sentirse amedrentado, a 'Mou' se le ve confiado y retador, pues durante la conferencia de prensa previa al juego aseguró que él piensa en el campeonato, más allá de este choque.

"Hay grandes clubes y entrenadores que nunca ganaron la Champions. El Madrid ha ganado nueve, yo dos. El Madrid quiere ganar la décima, yo la tercera. Voy a pelear hasta que llegue. No pienso terminar mi carrera con dos Champions"

Y es que la historia dicta que en enfrentamientos directos entre Mourinho y Ferguson el saldo es claramente favorable al entrenador portugués, de 14 encuentros sólo ha perdido dos.

Ferguson por su parte alabó los blasones de ambas escuadras. "United y Madrid tienen un aura romántica y una atracción global, así que probablemente se trata del partido más importante que puedas tener en la Copa de Europa".

Otro de los elementos atractivos del juego es Cristiano Ronaldo, quien anotó tres goles el fin de semana y enfrentará por primera vez al su ex equipo desde que partió en 2009. "Quería enfrentar al Manchester", aseguró hace unos días CR7.

El mexicano Javier 'Chicharito' Hernández fue convocado para viajar con el club a Madrid, luego de perderse el partido del fin de semana en la Liga Premier, el atacante azteca fue alabado por Sergio Ramos, defensa merengue: "Juega 30 minutos y te hace dos goles", advirtió.

Real Madrid y Manchester United se han enfrentado cuatro ocasiones en la máxima competición europea. La última hace 10 años en la temporada 2002-03 con triunfo merengue. Los Diablos Rojos nunca han ganando en el Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.
