CIUDAD DE MÉXICO - A pesar de contar con un equipo calificado, Javier Hernández considera que el camino de México al Mundial no será sencillo y su primera prueba ante Jamaica este miércoles debe asumirse con toda seriedad.
'Chicharito' pidió no subestimar al equipo caribeño y aseguró que la victoria es igual de valiosa si se logra por uno o muchos goles: "La idea es ganar y nada más, no es sencillo, ellos han puesto en aprietos a equipos como Estados Unidos, entonces no hay porque confiarnos".
Después de su primer entrenamiento con la selección mexicana, el delantero desestimó que a México se le siga etiquetando como el 'Gigante del área'.
"Ya no es como antes, al igual que México otros han ido evolucionando, queremos ir al Mundial, entonces esta eliminatoria debe ser tomada con cuidado", dijo a 'HuffPost Voces el jugador del Manchester United.
Hernández evitó hablar de la negativa de Carlos Vela para integrarse al 'Tri' por enésima vez en su carrera, sin embargo aseguró que él viaja con gusto y lo hará siempre que se le llame.
"Siempre me hace feliz que me llamen, a cada uno de los seleccionados que convocan están aquí por méritos propios. Yo estoy agradecido y quiero mostrarlo dentro y fuera de la cancha", expresó.
El ariete formado en Chivas viajó a México el domingo luego de participar 29 minutos en la victoria del Manchester United sobre Fullham por la Liga Premier.
México inicia su participación en el Hexagonal final de la CONCACAF este miércoles en la cancha del Estadio Azteca contra su similar de Jamaica en punto de las 20:30 horas.
