PHOENIX - El técnico de la selección mexicana, José Manuel de la Torre, prefirió no opinar sobre la problemática de sus connacionales en el estado de Arizona y el boicot promovido por organizaciones en favor de los derechos de los inmigrantes en Estados Unidos por desconocer el tema.

"Cuando no estoy muy empapado de todo este tipo de situaciones que pasan nuestros paisanos fuera del país, para mi sería imprudente hacer un comentario, prefiero hablar de lo que es lo mío, que es el fútbol y mantenerme en eso", dijo en conferencia de prensa al término de la práctica en el Estadio de la Universidad de Phoenix.

No obstante su silencio sobre el tema de los indocumentados, De la Torre se dio tiempo para elogiar a los mexicanos que trabajan fuera de sus fronteras, aprovechando la noticia del traspaso del volante Javier Aquino al Villarreal de España.

"Siempre lo he dicho, soy pro mexicano, me da gusto que salgan jóvenes al extranjero. Se puede demostrar que podemos hacer bien las cosas, no sólo en el fútbol, sino en otros aspectos de la vida, la gente que trabaja fuera lo hace de manera muy profesional", concluyó.

Y es que a lo largo de la semana se ha cuestionado la decisión de la Federación Mexicana de traer un partido del 'Tri' a uno de los estados de la Unión Americana con medidas más estrictas y polémicas respecto a los inmigrantes indocumentados, de los cuales una gran proporción es de mexicanos.

Diversos grupos de activistas impulsaron un boicot en contra del partido de preparación de este miércoles entre México y Dinamarca, que según ellos, dejará una derrama económica de la cual el estado sacaría provecho en un 10%.

Otro de los elementos cuestionados fue el americanista, Javier el 'Maza' Rodríguez, quien fue tajante al responder que prefiere mantenerse al margen de la controversia.

"Va a ser una respuesta muy corta, yo prefiero dedicarme simplemente a lo futbolístico y mantenerme ajeno a estas circunstancias", expresó.

Respecto al intento de boicot, es poco probable que tenga éxito, pues según fuentes allegadas al inmueble, las localidades se han vendido satisfactoriamente, tanto que se abrirá otra sección para satisfacer la demanda. El estadio, sede de los Cardenales de Arizona de la NFL, tiene un aforo de 63,400 espectadores.

México jugará este miércoles su primer partido del año, con miras a prepararse para el inicio de las Eliminatorias Mundialistas en febrero.
