BARCELONA, España (AP) — Los aficionados al fútbol se aprietan el cinturón ante el panorama de tres nuevos clásicos entre Barcelona y Real Madrid en poco más de un mes, el primero de los cuales se disputa el miércoles por la ida de las semifinales de la Copa del Rey española.
El Santiago Bernabéu espera con estado de alerta la visita del Barsa y el cuatro veces ganador del Balón de Oro, el argentino Lionel Messi, que tiene una asignatura pendiente en el coloso madridista.
Su duelo con el portugués Cristiano Ronaldo cobra peso a tenor de que será la 17ma vez que se midan en el gran clásico del fútbol español. El astro local y el Madrid se juegan más, dado el supremo estado de forma de Messi y la precaria situación de los "merengues" en la liga, donde sólo son terceros, a 15 puntos del Barsa tras 21 fechas.
La mala marcha en el campeonato ha puesto en la picota al timonel blanco José Mourinho, con lo que el Barsa, que volverá a visitar el Bernabéu por la 26ta fecha, vislumbra una gran ocasión de torpedear nuevamente la campaña de su gran enemigo, una vez izada la bandera blanca en el intento de reconquista de la liga.
Campeón de Copa en 2011 precisamente tras noquear al Barsa en la final, el Madrid cedió la corona en beneficio del club catalán la pasada campaña, cuando el eterno rival le eliminó en la ronda de cuartos.
El Barsa, 26 veces campeón, es el equipo que más veces ha alzado el trofeo, y concretamente Messi se ha coronado en dos ocasiones. Pero el argentino, imparable en la liga con 33 dianas, es hombre de retos infinitos y tiene una espina clavada en el torneo, pues jamás le ha marcado al Madrid en la Copa.
La trayectoria de "La Pulga" esta temporada es estratosférica, con números mejorados sobre la lustrosa estadística del pasado ejercicio, donde a estas alturas del campeonato contaba 11 goles menos en la liga y acabó logrando el récord de 50. Contando que el rosarino está en plena racha con 11 fechas seguidas marcando (récord absoluto) y cuatro goles endosados a Osasuna el pasado domingo, el Madrid tiene razones para inquietarse.
Además del argentino Angel Di María, sancionado, el equipo blanco presenta sensibles ausencias en defensa con las bajas de Pepe y Sergio Ramos, pero el vacío más llamativo se antoja bajo el arco, donde no figurará el capitán Iker Casillas.
El arquero, relegado a la suplencia en dos partidos esta temporada por Mourinho, se fracturó la mano izquierda en los cuartos de final de la Copa ante el Valencia y será relevado por Antonio Adán o el recién fichado Diego López.
Messi, quien suma 16 goles a Casillas en su historial particular y ocho tantos en feudo madridista, podría así reencontrarse en su 24to clásico con López, al que le ha endosado tres dobletes, justo cuando un gol le igualaría con el también argentino Alfredo Di Stefano como máximo cañonero de los clásicos, con 18 redes.
Cristiano no presenta menores ambiciones. La campaña del astro portugués ha sido complicada desde que se declara enigmáticamente "triste" en septiembre. A la decepcionante marcha en la liga, se ha sumado la deteriorada relación con Mourinho, con quien supuestamente se enfrentó al término del choque de ida contra el Valencia.
Pero independientemente del ánimo, Cristiano ha mejorado su rendimiento en las últimas fechas. El domingo anotó un triplete en apenas 10 minutos de inspiración, horas antes de los cuatro goles de Messi; y también anda en vena goleadora, con 10 tantos en las últimas siete fechas y 21 redes en el campeonato.
La defensa del Barsa tampoco presenta grandes credenciales de cara al clásico, pues la rotación de centrales ha sido constante, y el equipo ha permitido 24 tantos en liga, encajando además dos goles en cada uno de sus tres cruces con el Madrid esta temporada (en Supercopa y liga), cuatro de Cristiano.
"El Barsa no es favorito. Nosotros también estamos muy bien, jugamos en casa y queremos ganar", dijo el goleador Karim Benzema, que insistió en que "no hay problemas con el entrenador".
Cristiano, que ha marcado siete goles en los últimos seis clásicos por "solo" cuatro de Messi, pareció recuperado el lunes del golpe en el tobillo sufrido ante el Getafe y se erige como la gran esperanza blanca en un choque capital para la "Era Mourinho".
Un nuevo tropiezo podría desencadenar acontecimientos respecto al futuro del técnico, mientras el azulgrana Tito Vilanova volverá a ausentarse debido a su tratamiento contra el cáncer.
"Jugar en el Bernabéu siempre es súper difícil, y el que llega herido muchas veces gana", avisó su ayudante Jordi Roura, quien recordó la peligrosidad de Cristiano: "Lo normal es que nos marque goles, no lo otro".
