Guillermo del Toro admitió que le ofrecieron dirigir "Star Wars: Episode VII", pero que declinó hacerlo. Según una plática con The Playlist, tanto Disney como LucasFilm lo contactaron para ver si estaba interesado.

"Le hablaron a mi agente para ver si me preguntaba, pero básicamente tengo tantas cosas ya que hacer y estoy buscando generar más, que lo rechazamos", indicó el cineasta mexicano.

Y no es la primera vez que surgen los chismes de que estaría al frente de la nueva aventura de "La guerra de las galaxias", ya que el año pasado dijo a Fanhattan:

"He escuchado algo de eso, pero tengo tantos proyectos por discutir o pensar y no podría especular sobre esa posibilidad. Como tengo tanto qué hacer, si eso se volviese una realidad, y existe un acercamiento, tal vez me podría a pensar en ello - pero es como si pensara en salir con una supermodelo. Uno no piensa sobre esas cosas", confesó en su momento.

Así que la silla de director para el séptimo capítulo de "Star Wars" sigue abierta. Se había considerado a Matthew Vaughn, director de "X-Men: First Class", pero todavía no hay más avances al respecto. Quien ya está trabajando en el guión es Michael Arndt, de "Little Miss Sunshine".

¿Y todo eso que mantiene ocupado a Del Toro? Una de ellas es la película "Pacific Rim", que llega a cines el próximo 11 de julio.
