LOS ANGELES (AP) — El creador de "Star Wars" George Lucas está comprometido matrimonialmente con Mellody Hobson, la presidenta de una firma de inversiones, informó el jueves una portavoz de Lucasfilm Ltd.

No dio más detalles.

Hobson, de 43 años, es presidenta de DreamWorks Animation y es una colaboradora financiera del programa "Good Morning America" de la cadena ABC.

Lucas, de 68 años, ayudó a lanzar la era de las películas taquilleras modernas con sus cintas de "Star Wars" y las aventuras de "Indiana Jones". Las películas "Star Wars" originales se mantienen como las segundas más taquilleras en Estados Unidos, sólo detrás "Lo que el viento se llevó".

Lucas tiene tres hijos: Amanda, Katie y Jett. Antes estuvo casado con la editora cinematográfica Marcia Lucas, entre 1969 y 1983.

Disney completó la adquisición de Lucasfilm y la franquicia de "Star Wars" a Lucas por 4.060 millones de dólares en acciones y efectivo en diciembre de 2012.
