SAO PAULO (AP) — El estadio Mineirao en Belo Horizonte está listo para ser utilizado tras las obras de remodelación para la Copa Confederaciones de 2013 y el Mundial de 2014.

Las obras en el estadio duraron dos años y medio y costaron unos 328 millones de dólares.

El estadio, con capacidad para 62.000 espectadores, será la sede de tres partidos de la Copa Confederaciones y seis del Mundial.

Mineirao es el segundo de los 12 estadios del Mundial que abre sus puertas. El Castelao en Fortaleza fue inaugurado el 16 de diciembre, tras ser remodelado a un costo de 259,5 millones de dólares.
