Lionel Messi y Radamel Falcao eran los personajes de la tarde y no decepcionaron, ambos se hicieron presentes en el marcador, sin embargo fue el argentino el que sacó la mejor parte.

Barcelona derrotó con autoridad 4-1 al Atlético de Madrid y dio un golpe clave que lo propulsó a nueve puntos de los colchoneros, segundos en la Liga y a 13 del Real Madrid, que más temprano había empatado en casa ante Espanyol.

Messi volvió a ser el artífice de la victoria con dos goles que incrementaron su récord de goles en el año a 90. La polémica marca sigue engrosándose cada que 'Leo' salta a la cancha, pese a detractores como la Federación de Zambia, que pide no se le reconozca como el máximo anotador en la historia en un año, pues ellos aseguran que en 1971 Godfrey Chitalu hizo más.

Radamel Falcao por su parte abrió el marcador a los 31 minutos de juego. Fue el 17o tanto del colombiano en la liga, que está a siete tantos de Messi en la búsqueda por el 'Pichichi', reconocimiento al mejor anotador de la temporada en España.

Adriano con un golazo y Busquets, aportaron el resto de los goles, en una victoria que comenzó complicada para los locales, pero que después como habitualmente pasa con sus rivales, fue solventada con facilidad.

Pese a estar segundo en el campeonato y presa de la frustración, el técnico madrileño, Diego Simeone, dijo que el nivel del Barcelona es muy superior al del resto y eso demerita a la Liga: "Es una liga aburrida y poco competitiva".

Por su parte, Tito Vilanova, entrenador del Barcelona, negó que pueda cantar ya victoria: "No creo que la Liga la podamos perder solo nosotros, podemos ir perdiendo partidos y que otro gane todos sus partidos. Si hay un equipo con capacidad de hacer muchos puntos tendrá mérito suyo. Real Madrid y Atlético de Madrid serán rivales hasta el final".
