CIUDAD DE MÉXICO - Aunque en la próxima Copa Confederaciones participen selecciones del calibre de Brasil, España o Italia, México irá con la firme intención de alzar el trofeo, insistió el entrenador José Manuel de la Torre este miércoles.

El entrenador de la selección azteca aseguró que cada que acude a un evento va con la mete única de ganar y no sólo de participar, pues es una convicción.

"Nosotros buscamos aprovechar todos los recursos para dar resultados, vamos paso a paso, el día 30 comenzamos nuestra preparación, ya llegará el momento de Confederaciones. Por supuesto, y así lo expresé, me preparo para ganar, no entro a un lugar si no estoy claro y convencido a lo que voy, así me educaron", dijo ante los medios en un evento donde se presentó a un nuevo patrocinador del 'Tri'.

México tendrá una actividad muy intensa el próximo año pues además de la Copa Confederaciones se juegan las Eliminatorias Mundialistas y la Copa de Oro, sin embargo, para el 'Chepo' no hay equipo A o B, pues se afrontarán los compromisos con toda la seriedad.

"Es difícil decir en estos momentos que vamos a tener dos selecciones, Selección nada más hay una y es la que represente a México, sea quien sea quien esté al frente. Eso hay que dejarlo muy claro: no hay una Selección A, no hay una Selección B, somos todo un grupo de trabajo que representa a México y eso es lo importante", explicó.

Al ser cuestionado sobre su balance del 2012, en el que la selección mexicana consiguió la medalla de oro en los Juegos Olímpicos y paso perfecto en las eliminatorias, De la Torre se limitó a decir que hay que atenerse a los datos duros.

"Los hechos lo dicen todo, los resultados que se han tenidos en los torneos, esa es la mejor explicación que se puede dar a un balance", explicó.

México iniciará el año con un partido de preparación ante Dinamarca en los Estados Unidos.
