PANAMA (AP) — Andrés Iniesta condujo los hilos y Pedro Rodríguez marcó un doblete en la primera mitad para que España derrotase el miércoles sin mucho esfuerzo a Panamá 5-1 en un partido amistoso.

Pedro marcó el primer gol a los 16 minutos al combinarse con Iniesta, su compañero en el Barcelona. David Villa facturó el segundo tras pase de Iniesta a los 28 y Pedro aumentó tras una soberbia habilitación de Juan Mata a los 43.

La goleada quedó redonda con los tantos Sergio Ramos de tiro libre a los 81 y Markel Susaeta a los 83.

Panamá hizo el tanto del honor con un penal lanzado por Gabriel Gómez a los 86, lo que hizo estallar las graderías de felicidad.

"Nosotros nos tomamos el partido muy en serio; no le hemos dado oportunidades a Panamá y luego hemos tenido acierto en cada gol", dijo el técnico de España, Vicente del Bosque.

El largo viaje trasatlántico no pareció afectar en nada a los españoles, quienes tras un primer cuarto de hora anodino, fueron acelerando de a poco para entusiasmar al público en el Estadio Rommel Fernández, que lució vacíos a pesar de la promoción que el gobierno hizo del amistoso y a la decisión de cerrar las oficinas públicas en la capital dos horas antes del cotejo.

Los panameños fueron arrinconados con el juego de toque del campeón del mundo. El arquero español Víctor Valdés, que jugó los primeros 58 minutos, fue casi un mero espectador. Luego el capitán Iker Casillas tomó la portería y el público panameño lo recibió con una cerrada ovación.

"Hemos disfrutado esto", señaló el timonel panameño Julio Dely Valdés. "No se puede hacer evaluaciones ante una selección como España".

El primer gol surgió de una combinación muy familiar. Iniesta y Pedro pasmaron a la zaga con una llegada de pases cortos que culminó Pedro con un remate bajo cruzado que dejó tendido al portero Jaime Penedo. Panamá replicó con un contragolpe que no pudo cerrar bien el ariete Blas Pérez.

Otra sociedad del Barcelona se hizo sentir en Panamá en el segundo tanto. Iniesta ingresó hasta la última línea y cedió para que Villa la empujara a boca de jarro, ante una defensa adormecida. Pedro hizo su segundo con clase en una tarde nublada y húmeda. Recibió un pase medido de Mata desde la banda derecha, le hizo una finta a Penedo y el tercero para España.

En el complemento, el recién ingresado delantero Luis Rentería quemó las manos de Valdés en el mejor remate de Panamá hasta entonces. Luego se creció la figura de Penedo, quien tapó pelotas de gol de Jesús Navas, Villa y Roberto Soldado, respectivamente. Navas y Soldado ingresaron en el segundo tiempo.

España mantuvo su martilleo. Ramos, quien entró por Jordi Alba a los 58, se hizo presente con un tiro libre y luego Susaeta cerró el festín español con su diana. Gómez logró el descuento al definir suave desde los 12 pasos.
