SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — La versión más reciente del navegador web de Microsoft está ya disponible para el vasto público que usa computadoras personales con sistema operativo Windows 7.

El navegador rediseñado, Internet Explorer 10, debutó el mes pasado, cuando Microsoft dio a conocer el Windows 8, que hace cambios drásticos a un sistema operativo que por décadas ha permitido la operación de computadoras personales.

El Internet Explorer 10 para usuarios de Windows 7 fue presentado el martes. Inicialmente se ofrecerá en una modalidad preliminar o de prueba.

Si bien Microsoft apuesta su futuro al Windows 8, son muchas más las computadoras que se basan en Windows 7. Microsoft Corp. indicó que más de 670 millones de licencias de Windows 7 han sido vendidas desde su estreno en 2009. Es improbable que Windows 8 alcance ese nivel de uso al menos hasta el 2014, con base en pronósticos de los analistas.
