En los minutos finales del partido, Mesut Ozil salvó de la derrota al conjunto del Real Madrid en el mismísimo Santiago Bernabéu, pues con su gol el cuadro merengue logró empatar a dos anotaciones ante la escuadra alemana del Borussia Dortmund.

El juego correspondió a la cuarta fecha de la fase de grupos de la Champions League, en la que con este resultado el cuadro teutón continúa encabezando el Grupo D al llegar a ocho unidades, dejando en el segundo lugar al equipo madrileño con siete, en tercero quedó el Ajax con cuatro y en el fondo al Manchester City con dos, luego de que estos dos últimos igualaran a dos en esta misma jornda.

EL JUEGO
El inicio del encuentro fue parejo, pero poco a poco el conjunto del Real Madrid se hizo del balón; sin embargo, no supo mucho qué hacer con él gracias al buen planteamiento del cuadro alemán, que buscó tener el contraataque como su mejor arma.

El equipo del entrenador Jorgen Klopp empezó a llegar con peligro sobre la portería española, por lo que al 15' tuvo su primera aproximación en los botines de Kevin Grosskreutz, quien dentro del área grande sacó fuerte disparo que logró desviar Casillas.

Real Madrid respondió hasta el minuto 21 con su primer arribo, luego de que por la banda derecha entró solo Gonzalo Higuaín, quien tardó en centrar cuando Ronaldo se encontraba solo, lo único que pudo hacer fue un servicio retrasado, el cual el portugués no logró conectar.

Pero cuando pareció que el cuadro merengue se volvía hacer del balón, al 27' en una jugada de muchos toques del cuadro alemán logró ponerle número a la pizarra, en la que Marco Reus terminó una gran jugada colectiva con derechazo dentro del área grande por el lado derecho, en la que el portero Casiilas no pudo hacer nada ante la velocidad del tiro.

Sin embargo, Real Madrid no se desesperó y logró rápidamente empatar al minuto 34 por medio del zaguero Pepe, luego de conectar con la cabeza un centro de Mesut Ozil por la banda izquierda, en la que el defensa con gran brinco le ganó a sus marcadores y mandó la pelota a las redes, a pesar de que el portero alcanzó a desviarla.

Y cuando se pensaba que el partido se iba al descanso con el empate, en otra gran jugada de conjunto del cuadro alemán volvió a recuperar la ventaja al minuto 44, en la que Gotze logró acabar frente a Casiilas, en la que el delantero solo bombeó para poner la pelota al fondo de las redes.

Para el segundo tiempo, el timonel merengue Jose Mourinho mandó al terreno de juego a José María Callejón, quien rápidamente se mostró al 47 con el gol del empate a pase de Di María; sin embargo, éste fue anulado por el silbante por un 'polémico' fuera de lugar.

La escuadra madrileña continuó volcada sobre el marco teutón, pues la entrada de Callejón revolucionó al equipo en su zona delantera.

El conjunto del Borussia poco a poco equilibró el partido, por lo que empezó a tocar el balón por todo el terreno de juego buscando desesperar al cuadro español que, a pesar de que tuvo más tiempo el balón, comenzó a quedarse sin ideas al frente.

Al minuto 78 el Real Madrid se perdió la anotación del empate en los botines de Ronaldo, luego de un paradón del portero Weidenfeller, quien a bocajarro le detuvo fuerte disparo al futbolista portugués en el área chica, luego de un gran contragolpe merengue.

La escuadra madridista no dejó respirar al cuadro alemán un solo instante, pues al 85' Kevin Grosskreutz salvó en la línea final a su equipo, luego de que en su área se hiciera una melé y terminara con disparo de Callejón, en donde el jugador teutón salvó a su equipo.

Y después de tanto insistir, al 89' el Real Madrid tuvo su recompensa en un tiro libre de Mesut Ozil fuera del área grande por el lado derecho, en donde el jugador merengue colocó el balón en la parte inferior del poste izquierdo del meta Weidenfeller, quien nada pudo hacer, por lo que el juego quedó sentenciado.
