Barrieron con los Tigers en la Serie Mundial, ahora fue el turno de los fanáticos de San Francisco de festejar, aunque algunos de esos festejos pudieron haber llegado muy lejos. La euforia por ver a los Giants imponerse en el Clásico de Otoño, se desbordó en las calles californianas, donde se congregaron cientos de seguidores y comenzó la celebración que a la postre daría paso a los disturbios a lo largo y ancho de la ciudad.

Los fanáticos estadounidenses, sobre todo aquellos cercanos al beisbol, se han caracterizado por festejar airadamente los triunfos importantes de sus equipos, pero en esta ocasión los seguidores de los Giants pusieron en problemas a las autoridades luego del título de anoche. En medio de las calles de San Francisco, los eufóricos fans fueron de los gritos, las risas y los abrazos, a los destrozos. En varios casos se presentaron grandes fogatas en plena vía pública, hechas de muebles y demás objetos que encontraron los involucrados.

Incluso el famoso tranvía de la ciudad fue objeto de la celebración de los californianos. A pesar de que la mayoría de los disturbios fueron controlados a los pocos minutos de haber comenzado, muchos dejaron marcas de su paso.
