El portero del conjunto de la selección de Estados Unidos, Tim Howard, no le dio mucha importancia al paso perfecto de la selección mexicana en la tercera ronda de la eliminatoria de la Concacaf rumbo a Brasil 2014, luego de expresar para el portal espn.com que su combinado es el mejor del área.

"Sentimos que somos el mejor equipo de la región. México sigue creyendo que es la mejor selección de la zona; sin embargo, cuando crees eso, sin duda, tienes que demostrarlo en la cancha", sentenció el espigado arquero estadounidense.

Esta última ronda de la Concacaf tendrá como protagonistas a las selecciones de Panamá, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Honduras, México y Estados Unidos, quienes irán en busca de los tres boletos directos que le otorga la FIFA a esta área y el medio que tendrá que disputar contra una escuadra de la zona de Oceanía.

Luego de que el conjunto de las barras y las estrellas consiguiera su pase al hexagonal final en su último cotejo, algo que no pasó con México luego de ganar todos sus partidos, el también portero del conjunto del Everton de la Premier League sabe perfectamente que hay cuentas pendientes con el equipo azteca, luego de lo que sucedió en la última final de la Copa Oro, en la que el equipo de José Manuel de la Torre los venció para llevarse el torneo y el pase a la Copa Confederaciones.

Así que tanto la selección de Estados Unidos como la de México tendrán la oportunidad de demostrar quién es el 'gigante del área', pues en este nuevo hexagonal, que dará inicio en febrero, se volverán a ver las caras en dos ocasiones, y ya el tiempo dirá cuál de las dos será la número uno de la zona.
