MEXICO (AP) — La marina mexicana detuvo a cinco presuntos miembros del cartel de las drogas de Los Zetas en el estado norteño de Coahuila, el mismo donde una semana atrás el máximo líder del grupo murió en un enfrentamiento con personal naval.

La Secretaría de Marina informó en un comunicado que entre los detenidos se encuentra un hombre identificado como el presunto jefe regional para el norte de Coahuila, un estado fronterizo norteño que en los últimos meses ha visto un repunte de acciones violentas atribuidas a Los Zetas.

Las capturas ocurrieron el domingo en tres acciones distintas en las cuales también se decomisó el equivalente a unos 300.000 dólares y varias armas, entre ellas dos cohetes RPG.

En Coahuila personal naval se enfrentó el 7 de octubre con hombres armados y mató a dos, uno de los cuales resultó ser Heriberto Lazcano Lazcano, alias "El Lazca", considerado el principal líder de Los Zetas, un cartel acusado de algunos de los peores hechos violentos ocurridos en los últimos años como el asesinato de 72 migrantes en 2010.

La marina señaló que personal naval realizaba un recorrido por la población de Guerrero, en Coahuila, cuando fueron agredidos por hombres armados a bordo de tres camionetas.


Tras una persecución fue alcanzado uno de los vehículos, en el cual se detuvo a un hombre identificado como Miguel Angel Rodríguez Díaz, alias "Alfa Metro", señalado como el encargado de Los Zetas para los municipios del norte de Coahuila. Un presunto cómplice estaba con él.


Otras tres personas que también serían parte de Los Zetas fueron detenidas en otros dos hechos distintos.


La marina aseguró que tras diversas operaciones en Coahuila ha golpeado "la capacidad logística y operativa" de Los Zetas.
