PACHUCA, México.- El director técnico del conjunto de León, el uruguayo Gustavo Matosas, no solamente tiene en mente alejarse de los últimos lugares de la tabla porcentual del Torneo Apertura 2012, sino tener al equipo en los primeros lugares al final de la justa con un único objetivo: ser protagonista y poder llevar por vez primera en su historia al conjunto Esmeralda a una Copa Libertadores.
Este, sin duda, es uno de los principales propósitos que tiene en mente el timonel charrúa, por lo que espera que la escuadra felina mantenga su buen futbol que ha mostrado hasta el momento para que pueda ocupar una plaza en el certamen continental. "Sería lindo jugar este torneo; tengo la experiencia para hacerlo; me parece que con el plantel con el que cuento, más la llegada de unos refuerzos, podría tener un equipo muy competitivo", dijo en entrevista para HuffPost Voces.
Asimismo, Matosas mostró su satisfacción por el estilo de juego que partido a partido está imponiendo su equipo, algo que en el futbol mexicano muy pocos equipos pueden presumir. "Conozco muy bien a mi plantel, los muchachos saben muy bien a lo que juegan, desde que lo hacíamos en la Liga de Ascenso entendieron de lo que se trataba esto, así que hoy día ven el futbol como lo veo yo", señala.
El timonel de este modo ha hecho que los expertos en la materia se encuentren cada vez más al pendiente de su equipo, gracias a su propuesta de juego dentro de la cancha, pero lo más destacado de esto es que no necesitó de futbolistas de renombre para poderla llevar a cabo, luego de mostrar un futbol bonito y atractivo, pero sobre todo vistoso, que lo colocan entre los favoritos para ganar la justa azteca.
Matosas llegó a jugar en su época de futbolista con equipos como Peñarol (Uruguay), Málaga (España), San Lorenzo (Argentina) Atlético Paranaense (Brasil), Querétaro (México), entre muchos más, y en su etapa de entrenador ha dirigido a escuadras como Danubio, Peñarol y Bella Vista (todas en Uruguay), Universidad de San Martín (Perú) y Querétaro (México).
Pero el estratega sudamericano no echa las campanas al vuelo y toma con mucha calma su paso en este Torneo Apertura 2012. "Gracias al gran trabajo que estamos teniendo, los resultados están hablando por sí solos. Pero lo más importante es que los muchachos no pierdan el piso, pues hasta el momento todavía no se ha ganado nada y falta mucho trecho por recorrer. Todos nuestros sueños van partido a partido", dijo.
Sin duda alguna, Gustavo Matosas sabe que si sigue trabajando como lo está haciendo hasta el momento, más adelante tendría la posibilidad de dirigir a un equipo de los llamados grandes, pues sus conocimientos sobre el futbol mexicano han quedado más que evidenciados con los buenos números que ha tenido desde que llegó al balompié azteca.
