CIUDAD DE MÉXICO.- El equipo de Pumas sigue mal y de malas en el Torneo Apertura 2012, ya que en el juego de presentación de su nuevo director técnico Mario Carrillo, en la misma cancha de Ciudad Universitaria, sucumbió ante el conjunto de San Luis por la mínima diferencia, resultado que lo sigue alejando de los primeros lugares de la tabla general.
En esta ocasión se pensó que el cuadro felino iba a tener otra cara con su nuevo timonel; sin embargo, el equipo tuvo muy pobres argumentos futbolísticos para poder salir airoso de este cotejo, pues su ofensiva lució pobre, pues tanto Emanuel Villa como Martín Bravo no tuvieron balones a modo para poder hacer daño en la meta enemiga.
Mientras que la escuadra de San Luis tampoco arriesgó mucho, ya que durante todo el partido prefirió cuidarse en su zona baja y agarrar en un error o contragolpe al conjunto felino, fórmula que al final le resultó al estratega Alex Aguinaga al encontrarse con la anotación de la victoria.
El primer tiempo fue bastante aburrido, pues el juego de los universitarios fue predecible y con falta de dinámica, lo cual le facilitó el trabajo al cuadro de los Reales que no tuvo mucho qué hacer en su zona baja.
Para la parte complementaria, un yerro en la salida felina fue bien capitalizado por el conjunto visitante al minuto 55, en la que Luis Ángel Mendoza, tras un rechace del portero Odín Patiño a disparo de Santiago Trellez, solamente empujó la pelota por debajo de las piernas del arquero para mandar al fondo.
Pumas con el gol en contra siguió navegando en la mediocridad al continuar mandando centros fáciles al área potosina, por lo que su timonel realizó cambios; sin embargo, su escuadra no tuvo reacción alguna hasta el final del partido, a pesar de haber tenido más tiempo el balón, por lo que el juego quedó sentenciado en su contra.
