MEXICO (AP) — Para el delantero de Chivas, Marco Fabián De la Mora, el partido del viernes ante el León por la octava fecha del torneo Apertura tiene un significado personal.
De la Mora, integrante de la selección mexicana que ganó el oro olímpico en Londres, jugará por primera vez un partido como profesional en la ciudad donde nació hace 23 años y donde sus padres radicaron durante gran parte de su vida
"La verdad estoy muy emocionado de volver a la tierra donde crecí, el primer estado que pisé como ser humano. Son muchos recuerdos, sobre todo para mi papá, para mi familia que vivieron tantas cosas ahí", afirmó el delantero del Guadalajara en rueda de prensa.
El equipo de León, ciudad localizada a unos 350 kilómetros al occidente de la capital mexicana, pasó los últimos 10 años en la liga de ascenso del fútbol mexicano, pero regresó al máximo circuito para el Apertura de 2012.
"Estoy agradecido de poder estar ahí, es un estadio con muy buena afición, pero ahora voy completamente diferente con la ilusión de ganar y de hacer un buen partido", agregó el delantero.
El padre de De la Mora, quien ahora trabaja como entrenador del equipo Sub20 de Chivas, fue integrante de la escuadra del León que logró el campeonato en la temporada 1991-92, quinto de la historia de los "Panzas Verdes".
"Allá (León) crecí los primeros años de mi vida, me tocó el campeonato de mi papá pero la verdad yo no tengo tantos recuerdos", agregó De la Mora, quien el jueves se reintegró a las prácticas tras jugar unos minutos el martes en el triunfo de México 1-0 ante Costa Rica en las eliminatorias mundialistas.
"Estoy satisfecho por estar de vuelta con mi equipo y ya totalmente metido en lo que sigue y concentrado en el partido del viernes que será muy difícil", agregó.
Chivas, que con sus seis puntos en siete encuentros marcha 14to entre los 18 equipos de primera división, tendrá una dura aduana en León, que ha sido una de las revelaciones de la campaña con sus 13 unidades.
"Será un partido muy interesante y tenemos que salir desde el primer minuto concentrados a hacer un partido muy inteligente porque ellos traen mucha confianza", agregó el ariete. "Este es un partido clave en el que podemos repuntar y darle por completo un cambio a todo este torneo".
El partido se jugará el viernes en el estadio Nou Camp, de León.
