BARRANQUILLA, Colombia (AP) — Teófilo Gutiérrez marcó un doblete, Radamel Falcao agregó otro gol y Colombia aplastó el viernes 4-0 a Uruguay en las eliminatorias sudamericanas del Mundial de Brasil.

Falcao, el astro que llegó con seis goles en sus dos últimos partidos con el Atlético de Madrid, aprovechó un descuido de la defensa charrúa y madrugó a los visitantes a los dos minutos. "Teo" Gutiérrez, ídolo del club local Atlético Junior, aumentó la diferencia a los 47 y 52, y Camilo Zúñiga redondeó a los 90.

Después de seis partidos, Colombia llegó a 10 unidades, mientras que Uruguay se mantuvo con 11.

El mediocampista James Rodríguez, de discreto desempeño en la etapa inicial, dio los pases para ambos goles de Gutiérrez, mientras que Falcao asistió a Zúñiga para el cuarto tanto.

Falcao hizo quedar mal reiteradamente a la zaga visitante que no encontró la manera de neutralizarlo, especialmente en el primer tiempo en el que los "charrúas" lucieron perdidos en el campo.

Uruguay, cuarto en el Mundial de Sudáfrica y campeón de la Copa América, perdió un invicto de 19 encuentros que mantenía desde mayo de 2011.

Colombia visitará el martes a Chile en Santiago, mientras que Uruguay recibirá a Ecuador en la próxima fecha.

La elevada humedad y temperatura de esta ciudad en el Caribe colombiano, de cerca de 40 grados Centígrado, afectaron el desempeño de Uruguay, que todavía recuerda la goleada 5-0 que sufrió en el mismo escenario en 2004 en las eliminatorias rumbo al Mundial de Alemania.

Uruguay no contó con su goleador Luis Suárez, suspendido por acumulación de tarjetas, mientras que en Colombia estuvieron ausentes por el mismo motivo los defensores Mario Alberto Yepes y Aquivaldo Mosquera.

Colombia llevó la iniciativa desde el pitazo inicial y tuvo a un inspirado Abel Aguilar dirigiendo el mediocampo.

La anotación de Falcao nació de un centro por derecha del lateral Zúñiga. El balón se le escapó a Aguilar y Falcao, libre de marca, venció sin problemas al portero Fernando Muslera cuando los futbolistas apenas se acomodaban en la cancha.

Colombia pasó un susto cuando el central Carlos Valdés rechazó mal a los 12 minutos y el arquero David Ospina le atajó un peligroso remate a Diego Forlán.

Falcao, a los 12 minutos, dejó en el camino al defensor Diego Godín, conectó un fuerte disparo a ras de piso y Muslera con dificultad interceptó la pelota.

Promediando la etapa inicial, los uruguayos reaccionaron, y asumieron el control de las acciones, mientras los colombianos cedieron terreno, con Macnelly Torres y Rodríguez algo desdibujados en el mediocampo.

Diego Lugano, cuando trató de despejar un centro de Colombia, estuvo a punto de introducir el baló en la valla de su conjunto a los 29 minutos. Colombia después llegó en tres ocasiones de contragolpe y Uruguay se vio en aprietos para neutralizarlo.

Aguilar fue clave en la reacción local después de la fugaz recuperación de los hombres de Oscar W. Tabárez.

Tabárez, en un intento para levantar el rendimiento al comienzo de la segunda parte, sacó al defensor Mauricio Victorino y envió a la cancha al volante Alvaro González y luego a Gastón Ramírez por Maximiliano Pereira, pero los cambios no dieron resultados.

Uruguay tuvo tres oportunidades de gol en la agonía del choque y Colombia otro tanto, una de ellas de Falcao.

El encuentro se disputó en el estadio Roberto Meléndez ante unos 40.000 aficionados.
