Todo se encuentra listo para que este 7 de septiembre en la ciudad de San José se lleve a cabo el tercer partido eliminatorio mundialista rumbo a Brasil 2014 en la zona de la Concacaf, perteneciente al sector dos entre los combinados de Costa Rica y México.

Sin duda, esta será la serie más difícil que enfrentarán ambos conjuntos en esta tercera ronda de la eliminatoria, sobre todo para la escuadra tica, que es el cuadro que está obligado a obtener un buen resultado de su inmueble para seguir con vida.

El grupo lo domina hasta el momento el equipo mexicano con seis unidades, al haber ganado sus dos primeros juegos; le sigue el conjunto costarricense con cuatro puntos, El Salvador con uno y en el fondo Guyana sin punto alguno.

La importancia de la victoria para la escuadra que dirige el colombiano Jorge Luis Pinto radica en que ya no se puede dar el lujo de seguir perdiendo puntos como local, pues hay que recordar que en la primera fecha empataron en su estadio contra El Salvador, dejando escapar importantes puntos.

Mientras que por el lado de los mexicanos, un resultado positivo pondría a los muchachos de José Manuel de la Torre con un pie dentro en el hexagonal final, sin importar que todavía restan tres partidos por jugarse, ya que dos de ellos serían en territorio mexicano.

Tanto Costa Rica como México llegan a este partido con sus mejores armas, a pesar de las bajas de los jugadores mexicanos Giovani dos Santos y Pablo Barrera, ambos por lesión; entre lo más destacado del cuadro tico se encuentran Bryan Ruiz (Fulham), Álvaro Saborío (Real Salt Lake) y Joel Campbell (Betis español).

Por el lado del cuadro azteca, estará uno de sus mejores representantes en el futbol europeo Javier 'Chicharito' Hernández, así como varios de los jugadores que ganaron la medalla de oro en los terminados Juegos Olímpicos de Londres 2012.

En los recientes cinco encuentros entre estos dos combinados, la balanza se inclina del lado mexicano, con saldo de cuatro victorias y un empate (México 4-1 Costa Rica, Copa Oro 2011; Costa Rica 0-3 México, eliminatoria mundialista 2010; Costa Rica 1-1 [3-5, penales] México, Copa Oro 2009; México 2-0 Costa Rica, eliminatoria 2010; y México 1-0 Costa Rica, Copa Oro 2007).
