El equipo campeón del Real Madrid hizo su presentación en la Liga BBVA 2012 en el Santiago Bernabéu y, a pesar del gran dominio que tuvo sobre el rival durante todo el partido, no pudo vencer al equipo del Valencia, pues su futbol solamente le alcanzó para empatar a un gol.

Al equipo madridista le faltó idea en el marco rival en esta ocasión, pues no obstante a que no le prestó la redonda a su rival, en la mayor parte del encuentro no supo qué hacer con ella, pues de los 24 disparos que logró tener únicamente uno pudo llegar a su objetivo.

EL JUEGO
Desde los primeros minutos la escuadra merengue hizo valer su localía y se fue con todo en busca del marco rival, por lo que Ángel Di María, Gonzalo Higuaín y Cristiano Ronaldo fueron los protagonistas con intentos sobre el área enemiga, pero a sus ataques les faltó profundidad.

Sin embargo, al minuto 9 lograron aprovechar su dominio con la anotación del argentino Higuaín, luego de un pase filtrado de Di María, en la que el 'Pipita' quedó solo frente al portero Alves, quien en dos ocasiones pudo rechazar el balón del atacante,pero en el tercero ya no pudo evitar la caída de su meta.

Valencia no tuvo respuesta con el gol en contra y el Real Madrid siguió teniendo la iniciativa, pero sus jugadores ya no tuvieron ideas para poder descifrar la zaga visitante y así incrementar su ventaja, por lo que su futbol se fue cayendo, a pesar de tener más tiempo el balón.

Y cuando se pensaba que el partido se iría al descanso con la ventaja madridista, Valencia logró empatar el juego en pelota parada al 42', luego de que Tino Costa mandara centro al área desde el lado derecho y Jonas, con cabezazo, mandara la pelota al fondo, en la jugada el portero Íker Casillas y el zaguero Pepe quedaron conmocionados, luego de chocar ambos sus cabezas.

Para el segundo tiempo, el Real Madrid se volvió a hacer del balón y tuvo arrinconado en su territorio a los valencianos en los primeros 15 minutos, pero continuó careciendo de profundidad, lo más que pudo hacer fue un par de disparos de Ronaldo y de Di María que se fueron desviados.

Por fin el equipo de José Mourinho logró hilvanar una buena jugada que se estrelló en el poste al 65', luego de que Di María mandara centro exacto al área a la llegada de Higuaín, quien logró desviar la esférica de cabeza y ésta se fue a estrellar en la parte superior del travesaño.

Con el ingreso de Karim Benzemá la escuadra merengue empezó a tener una mayor profundidad, Mesut Ozil y el delantero francés probaron con disparos peligrosos al portero Alves, 67' y 71', respectivamente, pero el meta salvó a su equipo con buenos lances.

En los minutos finales, Real Madrid amontonó gente al frente y ya no pudo hacer nada, por lo que el partido quedó sentenciado con la igualada a un gol.
