Madrid, España. (Notimex).- El tenista español Rafael Nadal podría regresar a las canchas el próximo mes para enfrentar al equipo de Estados Unidos en la semifinal de la Copa Davis, que se disputará del 14 al 16 de septiembre.

Luego que Nadal descartó participar en el Abierto de Estados Unidos debido a las molestias en sus rodillas que ha padecido desde hace algunos meses, su entrenador Toni Nadal aseguró hoy que ha evolucionado de manera positiva y descansarán unas semanas más.

"Después de Wimbledon decidimos descansar unos días y luego pasar a fortalecer los cuadríceps", razón por la cual no disputó los Juegos Olímpicos de Londres 2012 ni el Masters 1000 de Cincinnati.

Tanto el suizo Roger Federer y el serbio Novak Djokovic manifestaron su preocupación por el tenista español al considerar que es un guerrero y debe ser seria su lesión, ya que de lo contrario participaría en Cincinnati, aunque esperan su regreso este año.

"Ahora estamos entrenando normalmente, pero no es lo mismo que competir durante cuatro horas", aseguró el tío y entrenador Toni Nadal, quién también manifestó que en un mes el tenista podría quedar recuperado para jugar la Copa Davis en Gijón.
