En lo que ha sido llamado uno de los partidos más importantes de la historia del fútbol mexicano, la selección azteca se enfrentará al pentacampeón mundial, Brasil, y de acuerdo al comentarista futbolistico de Telemundo, Sammy Sadovnik, México tiene la ventaja.

Los dos gigantes del fútbol latinoamericano llegan a la final invictos y con ansias de ganar el torneo, el cual ninguno de los dos ha ganado en su historia.

México sufrió una baja importante con la lesión de Giovani Dos Santos, su mejor goleador de México en el torneo con tres goles. El delantero sufrió una rotura fibular en el partido de semifinal contra Japón.

Pero Sadovnik dice que la lesión le pudiera dar al TRI una ventaja, ya que tiene reemplazos hábiles en Miguel Ponce y Marco Fabián. La salida del delantero del club inglés, Tottenham, permitirá poner al delantero Marco Fabián en una posición de ataque que es donde destaca más el jugador del Guadalajara.

Y aunque Brasil llega a la final con más goles, 15 por 10 de México, Sadovnik dijo que espera un partido abierto y ofensivo, notando que los amazónicos llevan un promedio de tres goles por partido y México ha demostrado que no se rinde al remontar el marcador en varios partidos del torneo.

El 'Scratch du Oro' llega con presión adicional ya que aunque ha ganado innumerables torneos internacionales, nunca ha logrado el torneo olímpico.

Brasil ha llegado a la final en dos ocasiones en 1984 en Los Angeles y en 1988 en Seoul, pero nunca ha logrado ganar la medalla de oro. México nunca ha llegado a la final olímpica. Su mejor resultado en estos torneos lo realizó cuando fue sede del torneo en el año 1968. En aquella ocasión quedó en cuarto lugar.

Sadovnik dijo que los dos equipos merecen estar en la final debido a que han demostrado durante lo largo del torneo que son los mejores equipos de la competencia. Pero agregó que Brasil ha quedado a deber y que México tiene con que ganarle por la calidad de sus jugadores y entrenadores.

"Le pondría una fichita mas a México por la regularidad,"
