El tenista británico Andy Murray pasó a la gran final de tenis olímpico y enfrentará a Roger Federer en la cancha de Wimbledon. Esta final repetirá la vivida del Torneo de Wimbledon de este año.

En un encuentro disputado en el Court Central del estadio londinense, clasificando para la final, Murray, número cuatro del ranking mundial de la Asociación de Tenistas Profesionales (ATP), se adjudicó el pase a la siguiente ronda al imponerse al serbio Novak Djokovic por un doble 7-5.

Murray jugará el duelo dominical ante Roger Federer, quien en el partido más largo a tres sets de la 'era Open' venció al corajudo argentino Juan Martín Del Potro, con marcador de 3-6, 7-6 (7/5) y 19-17 en 4 horas y 26 minutos.

El primer set fue parejo, un mano a mano cerrado que el crédito local logró deshacer en el duodécimo juego para cerrar con 7-5 a su favor en casi una hora en la cancha.

El segundo set fue idéntico. Tras un intercambio muy intenso, el escocés de 25 años, hizo el break también en el último game tras dos horas de partido exactas, lo que provocó una verdadera locura en las tribunas.
