Rihanna y Drake (quien se decía que salían juntos hasta hace poco) consiguieron cada uno cinco nominaciones a los MTV Video Music Awards 2012. La lista entera de nominados se dio a conocer esta mañana y entre los premios a los que competirán está Video del año.
Rihanna aparece en la canción de Drake, "Take Care" y además, compite por su éxito "We Found Love".
Siguiéndolos de cerca está Katy Perry, con cuatro nominaciones, incluyendo también Video del Año por "Wide Awake" aunque su video con tema bélico "Part of Me" compite por Mejor Video Femenino.
La controvertida M.I.A. también concursa para Video del Año, junto al éxito de este año "Somebody That I Used to Know" de Gotye. Cinco revelaciones importantes de la música actual compiten por el codiciado trofeo de Mejor Nuevo Artista: las bandas juveniles The Wanted, One Direction, así como los novatos Fun, Carly Rae Jepsen y Frank Ocean.
En el territorio de latinos, Selena Gomez concursa para Mejor Video Femenino por "Love You Like a Love Song" (y su novio Justin Bieber también va para un par de premios MTV) y la dupla de Jennifer Lopez con Pitbull está nominada a Mejor Coreografía por su "Dance Again". Demi Lovato, por su lado, aparece en la categoría de Mejor Video con mensaje por "Skyscraper".
Los MTV Video Music Awards 2012 se transmitirán en vivo desde el Staples Center de Los Angeles el próximo 6 de septiembre.
