Todo se encuentra listo para que se lleve a cabo la gran final de la Eurocopa 2012 este domingo, la cual tendrá como protagonistas a las selecciones de Italia y España, dos combinados que nunca en la historia de este certamen se habían enfrentado en el partido decisivo, y ahora disputarán la preciada copa en el estadio Olímpico de Kiev, en Ucrania, en una final considerada por muchos expertos deportivos como 'inédita'.

El camino de los dos combinados para llegar a la final no fue nada fácil, pues, pese a que el conjunto italiano tenía un paso invicto, en la fase de cuartos, ante Inglaterra, tuvo que llegar a la tanda de penales para conseguir su pase a la siguiente etapa; mientras que la española, que también no conoce la derrota en el torneo, sufrió en semifinales para vencer a Portugal, también al decidir su pase en penales.

La escuadra del director técnico Vicente del Bosque va en busca de su tercera Eurocopa, luego de haberla ganado en 1964 y en 2008, por lo que ahora el entrenador buscará llevar a su selección a ser la primera en ganarla consecutivamente.

En tanto, el combinado que dirige el entrenador Cesare Prandelli irá en busca de su segundo título; el primero lo obtuvo en la Euro de 1968; sin embargo, la 'Azurra' también sabe lo que es perder una final, luego de haber salido descalabrada en la edición celebrada en 2000.

Así que este fin de semana tanto la selección de Italia como la de España buscarán poner en su vitrina uno de los trofeos más codiciados del fútbol Europa desde la creación del certamen en 1960; en estos momentos ya no se puede hablar de un favorito, pues la 'Azurra' se ha encargado de romper todo pronóstico.
