Desde mediados de julio, Univision presentará en horario central una nueva telenovela: "Por ella soy Eva", protagonizada por Jaime Camil y Lucero. HuffPost Voces habló con la cantante y actriz de este desafío en su carrera en donde deja los melodramas para tocar la comedia. La mexicana nos sorprende al confesarnos: "Necesitaba hacer un personaje divertido".

"Por ella soy Eva" cuenta la historia de Juan Carlos Caballero (Jaime Camil), mujeriego y prominente ejecutivo de Grupo Imperio, una importante empresa turística.

Utilizando sus famosos dotes de conquistador finge ser un empresario extranjero e intenta robarle a Helena Moreno (Lucero), madre soltera y luchona, su innovador proyecto de un desarrollo turístico para una playa mexicana, sin embargo, al convivir con ella descubre lo que es estar enamorado, por primera vez.

Cuando piensa revelarle la verdad, es descubierto por ella, y al mismo tiempo es acusado injustamente de un cuantioso fraude por el vicepresidente financiero, Plutarco Ramos (Marcelo Córdoba), quien además es el verdadero ladrón del importante proyecto de Helena y ahora, al igual que la Comisión de Turismo, la acusa de plagio.

Perseguido por la policía, Juan Carlos huye, mientras Plutarco decide contratar a Helena para que sea ella quien dirija el proyecto, a quien no le queda otra que aceptar, pues está desempleada y acusada de plagio.

Juan Carlos hace un esfuerzo y decide, por amor a Helena, caracterizarse de mujer y llamarse Eva, y de paso, ayudar a esclarecer el fraude.

Aunque a Camil ya lo hemos visto varias veces haciendo personajes de comedia, como en "La fea más bella" junto a Angélica Vale, para Lucero éste es casi su debut, pues su historial de telenovelas se ha caracterizado por siempre sufrir como protagonista o ser la peor de las malvadas como antagonista.
