Cuando hablamos de automóviles deportivos exóticos tenemos dos subdivisiones de esta categoría: los exóticos y los ultra o súper exóticos. A modo de ejemplo, un deportivo exótico podría ser un Ferrari 458 Italia o un Porsche 911 Turbo, sin embargo cuando hablamos de modelos ultra exóticos tenemos, entre otros, al Pagani Huayra.

Por si no lo sabías, la marca Pagani Automobili S.p.A. posee su sede central en Modena, Italia, la cual fue fundada por el italo-argentino Horacio Pagani.

El Pagani Huayra es el sucesor del también ultra exótico Pagani Zonda, el cual se ganó un espacio entre los grandes deportivos de todos los tiempos. El nombre Huayra hace referencia al "dios del viento" de la cultura precolombina sudamericana Aymara. Al igual que sucedió con el Zonda, el nuevo Huayra posee un lenguaje estético original, que incluso podría calificarse de poco agraciado, sin embargo aquí la idea es que la forma siga a la función. Así y todo tiene un perfil reconociblemente coupe de motor central y puertas tipo "alas de gaviota", las cuales tendrían como objetivo el facilitar la entrada y salida del automóvil.

Al igual que sucede con su exterior, la estética tipo barroco del interior del Pagani Huayra resulta controversial producto de la combinación de diferentes colores, materiales y texturas, asociada a la tecnología disponible en el día de hoy, incluyendo una pantalla táctil que permite controlar el sistema multimedia.

Como todo deportivo ultra exótico, un aspecto más importante incluso que su apariencia estética es su motor. En este caso corresponde a un motor de origen Mercedes-Benz AMG de 6.0 litros V12biturbo que desarrolla una potencia de 700 caballos, asociado a una transmisión secuencial de siete velocidades. Dicho tren motriz asociado a un bajo peso del deportivo, permite una aceleración de infarto: solo necesita tres segundos para acelerar desde 0 hasta las 62 mph, mientras que su velocidad máxima alcanza las 230 mph.

El Pagani Huayra tiene un precio de aproximadamente $1 millón y se espera que su proceso de homologación en Estados Unidos concluya durante los próximos meses, por lo que proximamente se anunciaría su venta.
