El delantero argentino del Barcelona, Lionel Messi dijo al diario británico The Times y que más tarde fue replicada por diversas agencias informativas como EFE, que el día que deje de divertirse en los campos de futbol se retirará.
"El día que deje de divertirme me retiro", aseguró Messi. "No quiero perder esa chispa", subrayó.
En una entrevista que publica la revista del periódico británico The Times, que es replicada por The Times of India, el mejor jugador del mundo, de 24 años, habló de su vida en Barcelona, su familia y del futbol.
"El futbol es un juego. Yo trato de divertirme en el campo, jugar, siempre. Es por eso que lo hago. El día que deje de divertirme me retiro (...) No quiero perder esa chispa, es mi pasión", afirmó el '10' del Barcelona y de la selección argentina.
También habló de cómo están jugando actualmente los equipos de todo el mundo y cree que lo hacen de manera muy estática.
"Hoy los equipos juegan de forma estática, más por el resultado final que por producir un buen futbol. Para ellos ganar es más importante que jugar bien", agregó Leo.
"Necesitamos que salgan más jugadores con pasión por el bien del futbol", opinó el futbolista de Rosario.
The Times, que comenta que Messi habla en voz baja con un fuerte acento argentino, destaca su sencillez y la vida familiar que lleva en Barcelona.
"Estoy jugando en uno de los mejores equipos de la historia. Estoy muy agradecido por todo lo que me ha dado la vida hasta ahora, por todo lo que he podido conseguir, por la familia que tengo, por la gente que me rodea", resaltó.
Pero no ocultó su deseo por hacer más cosas en el futuro, ya que apenas tiene 24 años.
"Quiero crecer y madurar como persona. Todavía tengo mucho que aprender", dijo Messi.
The Times habló también con gente que conoce a Messi y con Pep Guardiola, que fue su entrenador hasta hace un mes.
Al ser preguntado por The Times cómo calificaría a Messi, Guardiola respondió: "Los superlativos se agotaron hace mucho tiempo (...) no escribas de él, no trates de describirlo, míralo".
