El presidente del Consejo Mundial de Boxeo, el mexicano José Sulaimán, señaló que no ve nada positivo el hecho que dos campeones mexicanos como Julio César Chávez Jr. y Saúl 'Canelo' Álvarez compartan la fecha del 15 de septiembre.

“Esta decisión le quitan a los mexicanos la oportunidad de apasionarse con sus ídolos”, externó el presidente del organismo, quien dijo que posiblemente la competencia de ratings puedan arrojar quién es más popular en México.

Sulaimán descartó mencionar que pleito será el más atractivo, pero apuntó que el que tiene una contienda más complicada es el sinaloense, pues ambos son los mejores de la división de las 160 libras.

“Sergio Martínez tiene una izquierda poderosísima, capaz de tumbar un árbol. No se si la pelea será explosiva. Pero si fuera Julio César peleando con Martínez iría sólo para adelante, pues la falta de defensa le complicarían las cosas. Pero ya demostró que peleando para adelante y atacando lastima”, explicó.

Como organismo que sancionará ambas peleas, Sulaimán Chágnón descartó asistir a alguna de las dos peleas, pues asegura no tiene un peleador preferido.
