"Savages", la nueva película del director Oliver Stone, seguramente levantará muchísimo interés entre la comunidad latina, no solamente por la participación estelar de cuatro grandes estrellas como Salma Hayek, Benicio del Toro, Demián Bichir y Sandra Echeverría, sino que prácticamente despertará muchísima polémica, considerando su fuerte temática.
En la historia, dos chicos de Laguna Beach (Taylor Kitsch y Aaron Johnson) tienen un negocio de marihuana. Pero cuando su novia (sí, que ambos comparten), interpretada por Blake Lively es secuestrada por el narco mexicano, deben planear un contraataque y rescatarla.
Suena al típico "dos gringos güeritos" que se enfrentan a todo un despiadado cartel de drogas mexicano pero como es Oliver Stone, no hay que juzgar hasta antes ver el resultado final en pantalla.
Mientras tanto, tenemos la gran mancuerna que juegan estos grandes latinos, quienes se reunieron hace unos cuantos días en Los Angeles para la gira promocional y claro, sacarse las "fotos del recuerdo", que ya nos comparten.
Salmita aparece con un vestido color rosa mexicano no tan ceñido como nos tiene acostumbrados, mientras que Sandra, protagonista de telenovelas mexicanas como "La fuerza del destino" y quien apareció en "Casa de mi padre" con Diego Luna y Gael García Bernal, optó por un modelito blanco más ajustado. Por su lado, los caballeros se muestran muy formales con sus respectivos trajes.
Hayek interpreta a Elena, la líder del cartel, quien mantiene secuestrada a Lively. Benicio es Lado, el brutal criminal a cargo de las misiones sangrientas de su jefa.

TONIGHT YOU'RE MINE - mayo 11
La actriz española Natalia Tena, a quien seguro recuerdas como Tonks en la saga de 'Harry Potter', estrena esta pequeña cinta independiente rodada en cuatro días en Escocia, sobre dos rockeros que se pelean en el backstage de un festival y son obligados por la policía a mantenerse esposados.
WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU'RE EXPECTING - mayo 18
Jennifer Lopez y Cameron Diaz son tan sólo dos de las mujeres que comparten sus experiencias con la maternidad en esta cinta basada en el best-seller. Comparten crédito con Rodrigo Santoro, Chris Rock, Elizabeth Banks, Anna Kendrick y Brooklyn Decker, entre otros.

Distribuida en países latinos como 'Cristiada', incluye un reparto multi-estelar compuesto por Andy Garcia, Eva Longoria, Rubén Blades, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Peter O'Toole, Eduardo Verástegui y Oscar Isaac, entre otros, trata sobre el desafío al régimen durante la Guerra Cristera.

La cinta con más latinos del verano (entre ellos Salma Hayek, Demián Bichir, Benicio del Toro, Mia Maestro y Sandra Echeverría) será también la más polémica. Dirigida por Oliver Stone, sigue a dos chicos (Taylor Kitsch y Aaron Johnson) que deben rescatar a su novia de narcotraficantes mexicanos.

La cuarta parte de esta exitosísima saga tiene por supuesto a John Leguizamo de regreso como el molesto perezoso Sid, pero además, se les une en esta ocasión una "tigresa" dientes de sable con la voz de Jennifer Lopez, quien será el interés romántico de Diego, el otro tigre interpretado por Denis Leary.
RUBY SPARKS - julio 25
De los mismos de 'Little Miss Sunshine' viene otra cinta protagonizada por Paul Dano, como un escritor que de repente descubre que el personaje que está escribiendo, su chica ideal, ha cobrado vida. Antonio Banderas y Annette Bening también actúan, aunque apenas y los vislumbramos en el avance.
STEP UP REVOLUTION - julio 27
El fenómeno de estas cintas musicales se muda a Miami, donde veremos espectaculares secuencias de baile en Ocean Drive y otros típicos lugares aderezadas por música latina de artistas como Pitbull. Ryan Guzman encabeza el elenco y a los chicos del grupo de baile.
THE LONELIEST PLANET - agosto 24
Gael García Bernal protagoniza esta película independiente sobre una pareja comprometida para casarse que dejan que un guía de turistas los asesore en su expedición por las montañas de Georgia. Ha sido presentada en numerosos festivales, como el de Toronto y New York.
